We had a great time at Asakusa, despite our hour+ wait. All the food is cooked on the grill at your table so this is not a fast meal by any means. But it was well worth the wait - everything was delicious and the staff were all extremely friendly. Many of them speak multiple languages, so we were able to communicate in English and Chinese. Highly recommend this spot if you have some time to spare!!
View on GoogleMonja Mokichi is a very good monjayaki place in Asakusa. Food is pretty good, try the Kimchi Pork Monjayaki that is truly special in my opinion. Place is nice even though it is a bit too crowded with cooking smoke, but for a place where every table has its own griddle, the temperature is good. Plus one star in service for the waitress, very kind and speak good english. We had the occasion to make some conversation
View on GoogleI had a wonderful lunch experience at this restaurant. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The food was excellent—each dish was flavorful, well-prepared, and clearly made with care. There was only a small hiccup during our visit: we were a group of four, and not all of the dishes were ready at the same time. As a result, one person ended up eating after the other three had already finished. That said, this minor issue didn’t take away from the overall experience. The quality of the food and the warmth of the service more than made up for it. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely recommend this place to others.
View on GoogleDiscovery of this trip - Monjayaki. It's a more liquidy version of okonomiyaki, but you eat it straight from frying surface, with constantly caramelizing gravy in every little spatula that you use to eat the dish with. Great taste, great place, can recommend.
View on GoogleThe day before, I asked a couple Japanese friends in Asakusa what I should do before my late afternoon flight back to the U.S..."Have your favorite food," they said, and recommended this place. I actually prefer okonomiyaki to monjayaki but was glad they offer both! While the wait was long, the food and experience was well worth it! Probably the best okonomoyaki I've had in Japan in my 6 trips!
