The strawberry daifukus are to die for. We stay at nearby hotel and ended up getting one every morning on our way with the trip. The staffs are also very cute and made our day start a little better every time we visit.

A wagashi shop that hopes to pass down the story of Negishi's good old days to the present, offering a variety of seasonal Japanese sweets made using traditional techniques and the finest ingredients, including Hokkaido azuki beans and Niigata Koganemochi glutinous rice!! I bought こごめ大福 (草餅 and 白餅, 310円 each) and とらが焼き (300円)🍴 The こごめ大福 has chunky red bean paste inside a wrapper that retains the texture of the rice grains, making you really feel like you're eating mochi—a specialty that 竹隆庵岡埜 is proud of😊 The とらが焼き had fluffy, tiger-striped pancake-like dough and moderately sweet chunky red bean paste, a great balance!!

こごめ大福 is the best! Sooo good〜(〃∇〃) The mochi wrapper is substantial without being too heavy, and the rice grains lightly brush your tongue—so delicious! Apparently it was featured on 有吉くんの正直さんぽ〜! I'm so happy I got to eat it! I had the white one first, then went back for a mugwort こごめ大福 too〜! Thank you for the food! Right now they have daifuku made with Seto Giants grapes from Okayama〜! I bought those as gifts too〜! Everyone, come visit〜!

Found this shop on the way to the hospital. A sweets and gift shop, with items sold individually or in boxes. The strawberry daifuku is big and really delicious. Freshly made, so eat it soon 🍓💖✨

I visited 「竹隆庵 岡埜 上野店」, about a 10-minute walk from Ueno Station. It had snowed in Tokyo the day before, so there was hardened snow along the roadside. The shop was more spacious and roomy than I expected. I got the famous こごめ大福 in both 白餅 and 草餅 varieties. I tried them right away—the daifuku were large, and the bean filling wasn't too sweet. Delicious!
