I stopped here after a long bike ride and had taiyaki—the fish-shaped Japanese pastry. You can get it sweet or savory. From what I understood, the sweet ones are served cold and the savory ones hot. I had the ham and cheese taiyaki, and it was exactly what I needed. The owner even cooked it a little longer to make it extra crispy—so satisfying. I also took a sweet one to go (haven’t tried it yet, but I’m looking forward to it). The atmosphere was lovely, and my iced coffee was strong and refreshing.
View on GoogleI got a Maple Syrup Custard taiyaki here a couple of hours ago. In the beginning, I was confused as, when we ordered take out, the taiyaki we got wasn't warm. But then I realised that this is a different kind of taiyaki, a summer version made with tapioca starch, which isn't supposed to be warmed up, with a texture that reminds me more of mochi! It simply tasted perfect, a very unique taste that is not easy to find even in Tokyo. My friend got the Blueberry Cream Cheese taiyaki and that was also very delicious. Moreover ad it's made with tapioca starch it's also better for my body who has a hard time digesting gluten. Thank you very much!
View on GoogleSelling creatively designed taikayaki and drinks, this quaint cafe sits only 5 but is a fascinating find in the back alleys of Habu.
