A place with ramen for 300円!? This eatery is along Midorikawa-dori, away from central Tachikawa. There doesn't seem to be a parking lot, so you use a nearby paid parking lot. Check before entering: two dogs roam freely here. They're always wandering around and nuzzling up to customers. People who dislike dogs or animals are banned, haha. Apparently it's a long-established place that's been around for sixty years. There used to be a branch in Nishi-Kunitachi, and this is the main location. The chairs and tables inside are straight out of the Showa era. The dogs keep wandering around. But they seem to be trained to stay away while you're eating. The menu has soba, udon, Chinese food, and more. The special-price hours are 14〜17, when ramen is 300円. I asked if it really was 300円, and it was indeed 300円. When I was about to leave, a dog came over. So cute.
View on GoogleI had tanuki soba (300円 during the special-price hours, even on Saturday!), and my companion had oyakodon. The soba was delicious! (Though a little salty.) I'd like to visit again if I get the chance.
View on GoogleThis is an eatery with 2 dogs. It's written in large letters at the entrance, but people who aren't comfortable with dogs should probably avoid it. If you like dogs and give them some affection, they'll warm up to you; if you're not interested, just ignore them and they'll go elsewhere. Unusually for these days, it's neither nonsmoking nor divided into smoking and nonsmoking sections, so people who dislike cigarettes might want to avoid it too. Though not many people smoke. As for the food, neither the flavor nor the appearance (Instagram appeal) is particularly noteworthy compared with other places, but I think the value for money (price-to-taste ratio) is good. In other words, it's reasonably priced. The atmosphere feels like a set-meal diner from early Heisei, if not quite Showa, so people who care about attentive service should probably avoid it too. When it's busy, both staff members sometimes go into the kitchen and don't notice arriving customers, so occasionally the customers themselves or other diners call into the kitchen. That's the kind of place it is. Personally, I like it, including that atmosphere.
View on GoogleThere's a warning at the entrance, but when you enter they also ask, “Are you okay with dogs?” so make your own decision then. It's remarkably cheap for these days, and while the taste is average, it feels like good value. Ashtrays are always available, so it seems like it could get very smoky when there are lots of customers.
View on GoogleA place where you can enjoy soba at standing-soba prices, with the atmosphere of a historic neighborhood soba shop. Two small dogs roam freely inside, but they just run up to your feet and sit quietly, and they're calm and fine with being petted. The soba was smooth and delicious, and the bowl was even more unusual.
