The menu is only in Japanese, but the owner is lovely. As for the food, the fish pieces are big and very fresh, and everything is delicious. Great value at an affordable price. All this plus 4 more glasses of beer cost only 6780 yen

A sashimi platter with a huge portion Visited with a reservation. When booking, they asked, "We ask everyone this: will you be having the pork loin katsu?" So I ordered 1 serving. Arrived at the reserved time of 6. The menu only had yakitori and drinks, so we ordered drinks first. When we asked if there was a menu other than yakitori, they gave us another menu. 2 servings of Yarisugi sashimi platter Shima sushi Yakitori: 2 skin skewers, 2 negima skewers They said the other yakitori we wanted were sold out. Chicken soup rice The otoshi was cold katsu with ketchup on it. The pork loin katsu arrived freshly cooked. Apparently they time the frying to your arrival. They cut it in front of us while explaining that they fry it slowly at a low temperature so the meat doesn't shrink and become tough. It was cut quite thick, but the meat was tender and delicious. Yarisugi sashimi platter It really was an incredible amount, too much to finish. With this much food, I wish they'd at least told us when we ordered. They said we could take it home, so we ended up taking about half home for a 100円 container fee 😓 The sashimi was tuna, sea bream, kinmedai, and isaki. It wasn't fishy and tasted good. Yakitori Light on salt, with tender and delicious meat. Shima sushi This was big too. Bigger than a child's fist. It was very filling. I couldn't bite through the kinmedai skin and couldn't swallow it. Chicken soup rice It was served as ochazuke. It was somehow different from what I'd imagined, and the flavor was mild too. It seemed to be mostly regulars, so first-time visitors wouldn't know how big each dish is. I thought an explanation would be helpful. It seems seafood and tonkatsu are more recommended than yakitori. Thank you for the meal. It was delicious. I'm full.

I found this restaurant while looking for somewhere in Tokyo that uses ingredients from Minamiboso or Tateyama. Golden aji fry and sashimi set meal I was surprised by the fried horse mackerel, which was bigger than my palm. You rarely see that size even locally. It was so heavy I thought my chopsticks might break. On another day it was a little smaller, though, so since it's wild-caught, the size probably varies from day to day. Even then, I thought it was bigger than the usual size. The sashimi and seafood bowls are more about heartily enjoying thick cuts than savoring the delicate flavors of local fish. When I requested a large seafood bowl, it was piled higher than it looked. Yakitori starts at 2 skewers per 1 type. This is delicious too. The liver comes topped with garlic butter, which combines with the sauce and makes the beer go down easily. It probably doesn't happen every time, but they served simmered fish while we waited for the set-meal rice to finish cooking, so I thought they had a generous spirit of service. Recommended. The restaurant is about a 10-minute walk from the north exit of Kinshicho Station. Head along Yotsume-dori toward Oshiage, then take Kuramaebashi-dori toward Kameido at the Taihei 4-chome intersection.

I visited after an acquaintance told me this was THE place for aji fry! Unfortunately, they didn't have aji fry the day I went, but their fish was exquisite, and I was truly glad I came. First, all the sashimi melts in your mouth!! It's also lavish and inexpensive, so I was very satisfied. The simmered kinmedai was incredibly plump and tender, yet soaked with flavor—a dish that makes me want to know how they achieve that result. As for the yakitori, the miso served alongside it was so delicious that I wanted to take it home to dip cucumbers in. My favorite flavor in the entire history of miso. Now I want to try the aji fry even more. Smoking is allowed here, which is tough for nonsmokers, and normally I wouldn't visit a second time, but this was such a lovely restaurant that I'd still want to go back. Thank you for the meal!
