Cute restaurant but two things you should know: 1. They have an "Otoshi" which is like a mandatory appetizer a restaurant charges for. This is common in Japan but the one here was ¥1,200/person which is quite a bit more than others. 2. Each person has to order one drink. This is also not very common in restaurants. They have a decent sized menu and each thing is inexpensive. However, do expect each dish to be very small! The food is good and if you're looking to drink with small dishes to nibble on, this restaurant might be for you! Also a good choice is you're looking for a little bit of everything. They accept Paypal, cash and credit cards.
View on GoogleCame for lunch. The lunch menu has 4 kinds of grilled fish; I had grilled mackerel and my wife had Saikyo-yaki redfish. The mackerel was big and thick, which was good, but the flesh was too firm for mackerel, and I wish it had been a bit fattier. The place is small and cozy, and the female owner was very pleasant.
View on GoogleBar-hopping again today, as always. I suddenly remembered a place I'd passed before and been curious about, so I went back. Last time was probably a weekend and it was lively, but when I visited on a weekday there were only about 2 groups of regulars, so it was nicely quiet. The interior is bright and tidy. There's a counter and a few smallish tables. Maybe 10 people could fit if you squeezed? From what I could see, the proprietress was running it solo, so she was busily bustling around. The otoshi is a choice of side dishes, and you could pick 3 out of 5. She said my companion and I could choose different ones, which was kind. The portions were bigger than I expected, so if you're bar-hopping, these alone were plenty as snacks. And by chance they were running a 3rd anniversary fair, with beer and sours at half price. We got lucky and drank cheaply The snacks handwritten on the whiteboard all look like they'd hit the spot for drink lovers. It'll probably appeal to people who prioritize drinking over eating a big meal.
View on GoogleI had no idea a place like this existed!! Super delicious with a great vibe, totally recommend it!! First off, when I heard you could pick 3 out of 5 kinds of otoshi, I got so hyped. When they came out, 3 really huge plates showed up and I was like, this much!?? And they're all super delicious!!!! Even ingredients I don't really like, I had one bite and was like what is this, it's so good!! Genius!! Looks like they're open for lunch on weekdays with set meals, so I want to come sometime!!
View on GoogleI stopped by because I wanted a light bite before a concert in Kinshicho. When I went, a woman was running it on her own. You can choose 3 otoshi. The otoshi were generous in volume and very satisfying. I had a fish called komai, and the flesh came off the bones easily, so it was fairly easy to eat. The rice came out heaped high, a size that would please big eaters too, so I asked for half. I'd like to visit again.
