Excellent abura soba oil noodles! Get the spicy one with an egg!!
View on GoogleLoved the noodles here, English menu available, beautiful sticky sauce and excellent condiments to add to your noodles, satisfying overall, the manager was a bit flustered with us foreigners but recovered fast.
View on GoogleI visited for the first time since Tokyo Aburagumi opened a shop in Ryogoku. Self-service paper aprons and hair ties are available, you buy a ticket from the machine first, and various payment methods are accepted. It's right in front of the station so the location is good, but it's neither good nor bad and I couldn't sense any particular dedication, so maybe it's good for an abura soba debut? Counter only, 8 seats. Table spices: pepper, spicy chili oil, chopped onion, vinegar, rayu. Recycled wooden disposable chopsticks, and toothpicks are not individually wrapped. After the first glass of water, it's self-service from the pitcher on the counter. There are no paper napkins, but a box of tissues is provided. There's one unisex toilet at the back of the shop, with a Washlet and heated seat. ⭐︎5 Absolutely love it, would go every day (great taste and cost-performance). ⭐︎4 Would definitely go again even if it's a bit of a stretch (a rare good shop). ⭐︎3 Tasty and I'd go again (if invited, as long as it's not right away, I'd go along normally). ⭐︎2 Not to my taste or poor cost-performance/service; wouldn't revisit on my own, but might go along if invited and treated. ⭐︎1 Don't like it, don't want to eat it, dislike it, bad vibe, personally think it tastes bad (personally not worth going). Torn between ⭐︎2 and 3. I went alone a little after 11 on a weekday in July 2025, and there were 3 customers already. Large abura soba 880 yen and Topping A 180 yen, total 1,060 yen. When I left a little after 11:30, there were 4 customers. Serving was surprisingly slow, and even the large portion went down easily for me, so next time maybe a W portion. The noodles are on the thick side but not the hearty, chewy washiwashi type. The sesame aroma was nice, but it's not especially delicious, so I may not revisit. Adding a soft-boiled egg (ontama) topping makes it milder but also takes away the punch, so that's a tough call. The low fat on the roast pork is a big plus. If I do go again, probably a W portion with green onion sesame and toasted nori.
View on GoogleI used to go here often to finish off a night out in Akasaka-mitsuke. Now that one has opened in Ryogoku too, it's very convenient. Topping A for the first time in a while! It was delicious.
View on GoogleThe ramen shop I'd decided on around Ryogoku Station was temporarily closed, and while looking for another place I found an “abura soba” shop! It was my first time trying abura soba so I was nervous, but I made up my mind and went in The system is to buy a meal ticket first, and besides cash you can use a variety of payment methods, which is convenient I chose the regular size abura soba, paid, and sat down at an empty counter seat The abura soba was served shortly after; I mixed it lightly at first and took a small slurp, and it was a taste beyond words, like, wow, this is good 😋 There are instructions on how to eat it, so I followed them and mixed in vinegar and rayu, and the flavor changed The noodle texture was great too and I enjoyed it to the very end ♪
