First visit to Ren-san, within walking distance from Morishita Station! The exterior is simple, but stepping inside, you can hear the sound of handmade noodles being pounded and see the owner's earnest focus! It's counter-only seating, and even when I arrived, there was a line of over 10 people waiting—proof of its popularity! This time, I ordered the Shoyu Chashu Noodles! The aromatic soy sauce broth has a clear, translucent color. You can really taste the umami from the chicken and dried sardines, yet the aftertaste is clean and refreshing, not heavy at all! As the shop name suggests, the noodles are hand-made, medium-thick, curly noodles! They have a pleasantly chewy texture with just the right amount of firmness. They cling well to the soup, making each bite feel substantial and satisfying! The slight variations in thickness characteristic of handmade noodles added enjoyable texture changes, keeping the experience fresh and satisfying until the very last bite! The chashu featured a combination of pork belly and loin. The belly melted in your mouth the moment it touched your tongue, while the loin offered a satisfying chew – each cut delivered its own distinct deliciousness! This Shoyu Chashu Noodles bowl perfectly integrated the savory umami of the soy sauce, the texture of the handmade noodles, and the chashu, creating a flavor profile that's easy for anyone to enjoy! Thank you for the meal!

Terrific, terrific ramen here! It has a bit of a more fishy base than I usually like, but the char siu pork along with the famous hand pulled noodles just reeled me in. The char siu is melt in your mouth soft and so, so good; the hand pulled noodles are a bit thicker than most bowls but that’s what sets it apart from the rest. Just absolutely stellar. The service was also very good. There was a small line when I arrived (around 12:15, on a weekday), but it goes by quick and you are seated quickly. Be warned though: nothing is in English so study up online or base your choices off the average price point for ramen in Tokyo. Super friendly staff makes you feel super welcome. Totally recommend!

The soy sauce ramen with extra pork is incredibly rich and fatty, yet not overly salty or greasy — and don’t even get me started on the handmade pulled noodles: perfectly chewy, springy, and full of flavor! The owners also nailed the portion size — I felt perfectly satisfied after finishing the bowl, full but not uncomfortably so.

I liked it well enough but I don't understand the hype. Maybe my palate has been destroyed by too many more heavy flavored foods but the flavors here were "okay". It was a very full meal and I didn't feel hungry for a while after, so I didn't feel the value was off, but I wouldn't wait in line long for it. I got in line 11:10 on a weekday and was let inside with the first group 10 minutes later. Was happy to have finally tried it and if you have a weekday free, why not? But the atmosphere while clean felt somewhat clinical and I didn't feel like I should relax there for a while (even though the customers probably don't have work to rush to).

Fantastic ramen spot. Local vibe, no other tourists in line with us. Fantastic flavors and unique noodles that hold the broth well. Waited about 30 mins at 1245, with quick service once inside. Recommend translating menu prior to going inside to be quick with ordering.
