Upscale experience, extremely good sushi. Couldn't ask for anything better. If you're looking to splurge on a high-end sushi dinner, this is absolutely the place. Both the chef and the woman there were extraordinarily kind, making the experience as enjoyable as possible. Chef utilized Google translate to explain to us what we were eating, as his English was very minimal. Definitely choose 鮨さかきばら!
View on GoogleBest sushi in Kinshicho! Foreigner friendly. They don't speak English but they make an effort. Had the seasonal special nigiri sushi. They also had a non sweet vinegar ginger I never tasted before. Will be back.
View on GoogleNigiri: “Oishii!!!” Price: expensive. Otoro was unbelievably good. You do get what you pay for. The service and quality of fish, and it is not often you see the sushi chef grate the wasabi root; wasabi often served at sushi places is not the real thing. They have an English menu but not for drinks, they’ve a nice selection of sake from different prefectures. The level of attention that goes into every nigiri piece served makes dining here truly entertaining and worth a visit.

View on GoogleThis review has been long overdue since I've been back home from my trip to Japan in October. This place definitely deserves all the recognition and praise for the amazing food, execution and service they provide. Coincidentally, this was my first time in Japan, and also my first meal after landing. I wasn't exactly sure what to expect, but everything you hear about Japan, its people and their culture was shown and felt through my experience. The owner and his wife were extremely hospitable. Despite not knowing any Japanese, they made every effort to explain what I was eating. You can tell from the the ingredients, the care to detail, and overall presentation, they take great pride in their food. This experience left a lasting impression throughout my trip and to this day. Even at the end of my trip, this definitely ranked as one of my most memorable meals. Despite the language barrier, at the end of the meal, I was still able to exchange communication through the phone. I hope to be back one day to eat at this place again. Hopefully next time, I'll know a little more Japanese. -The guy biking Shimanami Kaido しまなみ海道
