Love this place! My favorite flavor was the miso pork brown rice one. I stopped here to get a small bite for breakfast before we hopped on the train and started our day! It's so affordable and tasty. I highly recommend trying a few different flavors with your travel buddy.
View on GoogleMy go- to place for lunch in Sumida. Travelled Tokyo for seven days and ate here almost every day. Simple and cheap rice balls (onigiri) that taste very good. Two large pieces for around 2-3 usd. Take out only!
View on GoogleNot convenience store or supermarket onigiri — sometimes I just get a huge craving for onigiri from a specialty shop. You'd think there'd be lots of these shops, but there really aren't, huh. I happened to pass by while in Kinshicho, so I bought two salmon onigiri to take out. Big with plenty of filling So good~ I mean, I could make them myself if I wanted to, but every once in a while I just want onigiri from an onigiri shop. I like how each grain of rice stands up and it's just a little on the firm side ♪
View on GoogleA delicious, delicious omusubi shop. They always have around 20 kinds of omusubi. Besides the common ones like mentaiko, tarako, nozawana, and chicken-burdock omusubi, they also have omusubi made with brown rice! Personally, I love the brown rice omusubi. There's cheese okaka brown rice, tuna brown rice, jako brown rice, and more. I recommend the seasoned boiled egg omusubi and the iburigakko cheese brown rice omusubi! Whenever I pass by there's always a line and lots of people buying. This shop is a chain. Apparently they use rice carefully grown without pesticides! A delicious, delicious rice ball shop. They always have about 20 different kinds of rice balls available. In addition to the standard varieties like mentaiko, tarako, nozawana, and chicken-burdock rice balls, they also offer brown rice options! Personally, I love the brown rice balls. They have cheese-and-bonito flakes brown rice, tuna brown rice, and small sardine brown rice, among others. I highly recommend the boiled egg rice ball and the smoked radish-and-cheese brown rice ball! Whenever I pass by, there’s always a line of people buying them. This is a chain store. Apparently, they use rice that’s been carefully grown without pesticides!
View on GoogleI got the jako brown rice to take out at "Omusubi Gonbei" inside Termina in Kinshicho. The brown rice omusubi mixed with shiso, wakame, and chirimen jako is quite large and filling. One is plenty in terms of volume, and the price is about the same as at a convenience store. Being able to casually buy delicious omusubi is something to be grateful for.
