I can declare this the most delicious shabu-shabu in Japan! I used to be strictly a ponzu person for shabu-shabu, but discovering their style of eating it with dashi changed my mind. But I could never recreate that same dashi flavor… And the green onion and pork go together perfectly👌 Because the dashi is so good, the udon to finish was amazing too! If it were in my neighborhood, I'd want to go every week.

I don't usually write reviews, but this was so unpleasant that I'm writing one. The service is terrible. Even after waking up the next morning, I'm still irritated thinking about it. When we came in, we were told "Please go up, to the seats on the right," and when I headed to the right, a staff member shouted "GO UP, on the RIGHT!!!" loudly. Looking closely, there was a staircase on the left, and apparently they meant the right side after going up the stairs, but unless they actually say "go up ´the stairs´", how would a first-timer who doesn't know the layout know? Getting yelled at for going to the wrong seat was extremely unpleasant. (Other customers made the same mistake and were also yelled at, "GO UP!!!") When I ordered white rice, I was told "We're going to cook it now, so it'll take over 30 minutes, is that okay?" I agreed, but their attitude was clearly annoyed. When the shabu-shabu was finally served, I was hungry and wanted to eat quickly, so I turned the heat up, and they came over to scold me: "Please eat it on low heat." Then when I asked where the restroom was, all they said was "Outside!!" Since the restaurant is underground, I didn't understand what they meant by outside, so I asked back, "Do I need to go up to the 1st floor?" and they repeated, exasperated, "OUTSIDE!!!" You can't have a conversation with them. They only put a little rice in the bowl (about 3 bites for a man), and even after finishing everything including the hot pot I wasn't full, so I wanted to order other dishes, but I figured if I ordered I'd get another nasty attitude and it'd take forever to come out, so I didn't. I wanted to leave quickly and asked for the check, but even when I called out loudly "Excuse me!" they didn't come out of the kitchen at all, and when I went to look, they were smoking. Never going again! Give me back my precious time! The counter is super dirty. Looks like there could be bugs. I don't know if "bad service" is supposed to be their selling point or what, but neither the atmosphere nor the person was the kind you could enjoy that with. I can't forgive the condescending way they talked to people. Maybe if you went in already knowing all this, you could look down on them instead and enjoy it. But I'm never going again.

The negi shabu here is eaten with dashi broth instead of ponzu, and it's incredibly delicious. I've been a regular since before they moved to their current location. I leave it to Mama and the Taisho to serve me their recommendations.

At first I was overwhelmed by the lady⁈ with the strong personality, but the taste is outstanding❗️ Maybe because it's underground, the full-on Showa-era smell may startle you, but everything tastes really good and the shochu just keeps flowing‼️ Who knew there was a place like this here⁉️ The standout is definitely the dipping sauce for the negi pork‼️ It's a simple, light, nothing-special flavor, but it brings out the taste of the pork irresistibly… That towering mountain of green onions is fun just to look at
