When we landed in Tokyo, and traveled to our AirBnb, we were hungry road weary travelers, in a foreign country. We passed an izakaya near our accommodations, and awkwardly entered to ask if we could have a meal. We were warmly greeted by a family that ran the establishment, on a national holiday (Sea Day), and invited in to eat, as we watched their family celebrate, while preparing and serving awesome food. Our dinner was wonderful; we felt so welcomed. We’ve gone back several times now for dinner, always accepted in the warmest way. Honestly, they embody what it has felt like visiting Japan. Everyone willing to help guide, and be of service. It has been an honor to visit Tokyo!
View on GoogleA hidden local gem. We were a couple who came here around 11.30 pm when every other izakaya in this beautiful area didn’t accept us for we were late. It was a beautiful wending to our night. The food was excellent. The service was too gooood. We didn’t speak Japanese but the owner lady spoke very good English and suggested excellent side dishes to go with the sake we had. She was graceful and very charming to say the least. A place where the local regulars hung out. Coming back again. Thank you for your hospitality and great food and drinks. And her baby was toooo cute.
View on GoogleAwesome yakitori izakaya hidden amid the residential area. I really liked the food, vibe, and welcoming staff! Some staff can speak English, so don’t be afraid to visit. They sell chicken sashimi so you should try it if you haven’t.
View on GoogleGreatest Dining experience in Tokyo. The regulars are very cool and kind people. The two owners are great. They take time to explain menu clearly and give recommendations. Their English is good and they also took time to teach me Japanese and give me recommendations on where to go. I was here every night even though I do not drink. I miss them and will definitely be back here every time I visit Japan.
View on GoogleCozy yakitori place that serves delicious and very reasonably priced chicken-on-a-skewer and a large variety of drinks. The liver was so soft it melted in my mouth. Also, the chicken thigh (momo) with salt seasoning was extremely delicious. My son didn’t stop ordering! Apparently there is English-speaking staff available on weekdays. No smoking and open until 2am. 10/10
