Small local/family business that’s been running for some time in the heart of Sumida City. Did not expect a lot when I arrived, but the attention and meal we received in return of our arrival was overwhelming and top quality. The menu is not foreign friendly, so I would bring a photo translator for the menu, but just for a quick tip, once you see the menu, turn it around and you will see three options: A, B, and, C, those are sets/combos they offer which include the main meal, rice, soup, and salad, and very good portion for who ever feels hungry. Also need to add that the lady who deals with the customers has an incredible and nice attitude, very friendly, and she will respond in a very wholesome manner if you talk to her or try to talk in Japanese. Overall nice experience, great food, and good spot, definitely a hidden gem. Note: In the photo we ordered: Combo C: Fried chicken (closest to me) Combo A: Fried shrimp and vegetables

Found this restaurant randomly while looking for somewhere to eat for lunch and lucked out. The atmosphere, the staff, and especially the food were all really good. Ate here with a muslim friend so he couldn’t eat pork but there are a lot of non-pork options to choose from like karaage and squid stir fry(?) which we got and were both amazing. Would definitely recommend anyone to eat here if you’re in the area. Note: there’s no english menu but nothing that google translate won’t be able to handle. (Sorry for the picture, took it midway through eating haha)

Excellent dining experience. Our waitress was patient and sweet, and the food was quite good. No English menu or staff when we went, but we gambled a bit with Google translate and we were more than satisfied. I hope to return.

I guess this kind of a hidden treasure. Great food and very cheap. I can only recommend to go!

Located in a place that is hard to find, but it is a town Chinese restaurant that Japanese people like, the lunch soup with hiyashi chuka, gyoza, fried chicken, and all-you-can-drink is delicious, and the service is also good, but only cash payment. Table spices are soy sauce, chili oil, vinegar, pepper, hand disinfectant and paper napkins are placed, and toothpicks are individually wrapped in plastic. Disposable chopsticks were also wrapped in paper. I am happy that they put cold tea in the kettle, and this is also delicious. The tea is served in a small ceramic that reminds of Chinese tea sets set on the table, which is cute. There are separate toilets for men and women. There is one toilet for each man and woman at the back of the store with a warm seat with a washlet. The toilet is also kept clean, and the service is wonderful, so it feels like the personality is spread in every corner. ⭐︎5 Love it, want to go every day (taste and value for money are good). ⭐︎4 Really want to go again even if it's a bit forced (a good shop that is rare). ⭐︎3 Delicious and okay to go again (go normally if not invited immediately). ⭐︎2 Not to my taste or value for money or service is bad, no voluntary return visit, but might go if asked to accompany with being paid for. ⭐︎1 Don't like, don't want to eat, hate, bad feeling, personally I think it's not delicious (personally not worth visiting). A shop loved by locals despite being in a place that is hard to find. ◉5th visit July 2026 Sunday noon, my husband and I went together aiming for hiyashi chuka. What we ordered was hiyashi chuka hard noodle sesame flavor 1,540 yen, my husband's green onion char siu cold noodle hard noodle 1,430 yen, gyoza 5 pieces 660 yen. Indeed, the gyoza here is delicious. I like the thin-skinned and small ones, but even with normal thickness and normal size, the balance of seasoning is good and not too oily. Hiyashi chuka sesame flavor was a little too thick, but other than that it was delicious. Personally, I don't need char siu, so I want more chicken, or homemade egg crepe... Well, it might be difficult because it takes time. The green onion cold char siu that my husband ordered had plenty of char siu on it, was filling, and I thought it was salty, but it was soy sauce flavor. With spicy chopped green onion, sesame oil, and salty seasoning, my husband said he would be happy if char siu was reduced and more green onion was on it. ◉3rd~4th visit (total day and night), July 2025 weekday night after 18:30, 3 people, went after a phone reservation just before. Then when arriving 10 minutes later, there was a full sign at the store entrance. We were guided to seats marked as reservation seats, with 2 male customers alone and 1 family of 4. What we ordered was Asahi Super Dry medium bottle 770 yen, lemon sour 550 yen, Gu Yue Long Shan Jin Long bottle 2,750 yen, dinner small plate set B (tofu salad, fried chicken, shrimp and egg chili sauce) 1,320 yen, grilled gyoza 5 pieces 660 yen x 2, fried rice 880 yen, gomoku hiyashi chuka soy sauce flavor 1,400 yen, half ramen 385 yen with menma and zha cai as an appetizer, total 9,940 yen. I remember the fried chicken was chicken breast, but not the one without skin or tendons that I like, but the skin was also firmly attached and became very crispy, so personally it was easy to eat. But because the salt and pepper were a little strong, I threw it away and ate it. Tofu salad contains silk tofu, tomato, seaweed, lettuce, and chopped cabbage with ponzu sauce, shrimp chili also contains almost all eggs and the taste is basic. Hiyashi chuka and half ramen were ordered with hard noodles, that was correct. Half ramen is small but contains ingredients, I was happy. ◉2nd visit August 2024 weekday noon, I could enter. July or something was full of weekday office workers and couldn't enter. This day gomoku hiyashi chuka soy sauce sauce, and my companion set ramen half fried rice with ramen only +250 yen to normal size. Both hard noodles. And grilled gyoza. Total 3410 yen? Feels a little expensive. Many places where hiyashi chuka is not delicious, but this is complicated and delicious, but because the price is 1400 yen excluding tax or because of the photo, I was excited to see the professional skill of egg iris (kinshi tamago), but I was disappointed because what came out was ready-made... Because I often make hiyashi chuka myself, I want that fragrant burnt aroma... Personally I don't need char siu, not chicken breast, I want bean sprouts... But the crab claw on it was frozen, but delicious! Overall also delicious. Basic soy sauce sauce that also goes well with mustard. And because this year is hot, it seems they might do hiyashi chuka until the end of October. Happy. Ramen is also old-fashioned town Chinese soy sauce ramen taste, nostalgic and delicious. Because it was hot and couldn't be eaten, noodles indeed must be hard. Fried rice is relatively salty and somewhat moist, I like it, but my companion who likes moist said it's delicious but there are parts where rice is clumped so not really. For dessert, they gave us two frozen strawberries containing condensed milk. Thank you and delicious. And indeed gyoza is also delicious, but next time I will order well-baked. ◉1st visit May 2024, when I went for the first time on a weekday lunch, almost all seats were filled. My companion liked tantanmen and gyoza, but said the rice smelled a little. Because my physical condition was bad, maybe this review cannot be used as a reference. What we ordered was lunch mapo tofu set (large rice free), grilled gyoza (5 pieces), and negi tantanmen (with small rice service), total 2400 yen. Tantanmen forgot to order hard noodles, but noodles were quite hard and delicious. Soup is not paste but ground sesame, so not creamy, but aroma of sichuan pepper and star anise, lots of ingredients with bok choy, minced meat, and green onion. Because for me the taste was a little strong, I was very happy to be able to order small rice for free. Grilled gyoza, I expected well-baked after seeing review photos, but what was served to us was not very burnt. But the balance of taste is good and very delicious. My companion who likes mapo tofu said he wanted noodles so he was confused, but he chose mapo tofu instead of half fried rice half ramen set. Mapo tofu is a sweet seasoning that is not too spicy for Japanese people, not at all to my taste, and minced meat is also a little, so I won't order again. My companion said sweet and thin. But when I asked if I could get sichuan pepper, they gladly gave it. Lunch set comes with egg whisk soup (can add), vegetables that are a little too little to be called salad, one mini fried spring roll (maybe oil was oxidized, although it's my favorite food but not really...), side dish like ginger pickle, zha cai, and large rice. But honestly other than gyoza, it's not my taste, but maybe because my physical condition was bad. My companion evaluated gyoza and tantanmen, so maybe I will go again. If I come again, I will order salt-flavored shrimp stir-fry or fried chicken set that seems to be chicken breast. Or half fried rice half ramen set. And gyoza. Other than that, I am curious about hiyashi chuka whose photo looks delicious, but because it is too expensive, maybe gomoku ankake fried noodles. ◉If going at night, gyoza and hiyashi chuka in summer are essential.
