i stopped here during lunch hour while wandering around the city. upon walking in, it was immediately clear to me that this was a place that primarily served busy, working people, so what may be perceived as unfriendly service was not the fault of the staff. i feel that this is an unfortunate element of reviews from tourists that is often missed: if you don't know what you're getting into, then read the room fast, or know the area and language. service was very quick and brief because of the speed and variety of people on their lunch breaks, so i was a little out of my element trying to order without knowing much japanese, much less chinese. my table also did not have an ash tray, which i had to ask for. the quality of the food and service was very reflective of the price paid (very low, cash only) so i cannot deduct points with honesty. once again, it was also nice to enjoy a cigarette after a meal. i got exactly what i paid for, and i was satisfied.
View on GoogleThe steamed chicken, finished moist and tender, has a texture that seems to fall apart the moment it's in your mouth; a simple yet highly polished dish. The special sauce is refreshing yet rich, and really brings out the flavor of the chicken. It goes perfectly with rice too, the kind of taste that keeps your chopsticks moving. The lunch is a nice size and good value. The interior has a calm atmosphere, and being able to eat at a relaxed pace is another plus. Recommended when you want to casually enjoy a delicious Chinese lunch. It's a place that makes me want to try other dishes too.
View on GoogleA Chinese restaurant I've visited several times. They have a good range of set meals and you can smoke here, so I get the impression smokers use it a lot. It's often full at peak times. This time I came for a slightly late lunch, so I got in right away. It was hot so I wanted something cold, and then I found hiyashi tantanmen. It's not on the regular menu, so I ordered it. 950 yen. It's called hiyashi tantanmen, but it's different from the tantanmen flavor you'd imagine; it's more like a black vinegar base topped with meat miso. It was refreshing and delicious, but if you order it expecting tantanmen, there's a bit of a gap. By the way, with noodle dishes you can add half fried rice for +50 yen. I forgot to add it… Until now it was cash only, but now you can use PayPay. Thank you for the meal.
View on GoogleVisited on a Friday a little after 13:30 4 customers ahead of me. Sat comfortably alone at a table for 4. Ordered the sanratanmen and half fried rice The piping-hot sanratanmen had chewy noodles and the soup was really delicious too. The half fried rice was lightly seasoned, but had a nice chewy texture and was delicious. Prices are reasonable too; payment is cash only
View on GoogleWent in around 14:30 (got in right away!) When I said I'm not good with cigarette smoke, they said sorry and moved me to a counter seat 😊 They closed at 15:00, so I couldn't finish and apologized for leaving food, but they kindly told me to take my time; such a kind response that I want to go again ♪ I'd be happier if it were non-smoking, so minus 1 star 🥲 800 yen for lunch with this much food is an amazing deal, recommended!
