The woman in charge told me I could not sit at the table I first chose. Then after I lit my pipe she told me that pipe and cigars were not allowed although there was no sign saying so. I wish I never went there. I will never go back. There are more friendly cafes in Kinshicho (Roje for example) which let you sit where you want and smoke what you want.
View on GoogleA beautiful jun-kissa (classic coffee shop), run single-handedly by a cheerful, fun lady. (Other reviews say she's domineering and such, but that's not true at all. lol) It's great that smoking is allowed! Even so, you don't really notice a cigarette smell, and it feels clean. For iced coffee, I recommend ari-ari (with milk and sugar)☕️ It has a sweet, cacao-like aroma — why is it so delicious... Just being here lifts my mood. A place I hope will be around forever. I'll be back!
View on GoogleI visited wanting to take a breather after lunch. The interior is the very picture of a retro coffee shop…. My impression is that many of the customers are regulars. They have most of the menu items you'd expect from a retro coffee shop, and I recommend it to anyone who likes coffee shops with this kind of atmosphere. It seems to be one order per 2 hours. Payment seems to be cash only. It seems smoking is allowed here, so I don't recommend it to those who don't like cigarettes.
View on GoogleI visited around 3 p.m. on a Sunday. It was almost full inside. Luckily I got seated without waiting, but two groups after me it was already full and they couldn't get in. The whole place was all about horse racing, with older guys making a racket watching the live broadcast on TV, and a scattering of regular customers — that was the vibe. The seat I happened to be shown to was a Space Invaders game table, which was fun. Prices weren't that high either, and the staff moved briskly, were kind, and laughed a lot — a really nice atmosphere. The restroom was also cleaned nicely, and overall I think it's a good place. However, since smoking is allowed at the seats, I can't recommend it to people who dislike smoking. It's not smoky, but the smell is quite noticeable…… I'm a smoker so it's fine for me, but if you don't like it, be careful. Personally, I highly recommend this place.
View on GoogleOn weekday lunchtimes, it's a place where office workers come to unwind. The bustling hum of the room is truly that of a Showa-era coffee shop. And the interior is clean. The conversations between the floor staff and the regulars are pleasant to listen to. The coffee is delicious too. A lovely coffee shop I hope will be around forever.
