An orthodox, casual kappo restaurant. A bit pricier than an izakaya, but what comes out is worth it. An assorted sashimi platter for one person is just over 1000 yen—that's amazing. The agedashi tofu's dashi also did a great job. A return visit is a must. Tsukidashi → 400 yen? Sashimi → 980 yen Agedashi tofu → 700 yen Yamaimo wasabi and kimchi → 600 yen Glass of beer → 380 yen Sake → 650 yen Gyokuro hai → 400 yen
View on GoogleA hidden gem. A creative Japanese(?) place I casually walked into alone. The sashimi is delicious. The otoshi is delicious too. The cozy little interior is also nice. The prices aren't high either, but the food is genuinely delicious. I'm a former cook, and I think the ingredients are good and they make proper use of them. Rather than going to an expensive place that's delicious, you're definitely better off coming here. There's a counter, so I think it's easy to come in even alone. But it seems to fill up quickly, so it might be better to call ahead. The service is just right. It seems to be run by a married couple, and both seemed kind. Honestly, I don't really want to tell anyone about it.. Thank you for the meal!!
View on GoogleA neighborhood casual kappo restaurant. Pricier than a casual izakaya, but they serve what's in season and everything is delicious. The local sake lineup is average.
