The best yakitori restaurant I’ve ever had in Tokyo has

Visited with an acquaintance I hadn't seen in a long time. I'd been curious about this yakitori restaurant for a while, and the yakitori was superb. Each skewer isn't cheap, but the satisfaction matches the price. Everything is delicious, including the snacks beyond the skewers. There's also a wide selection of recommended shochu and sake, including labels you don't often see elsewhere, and all the drinks are delicious. Eating until you're full isn't cheap per person, but it's the perfect place to treat yourself or spend special time with friends. A standout restaurant in Ogikubo.

The entrance is hard to find, but this popular place serves excellent yakitori and other dishes too. Perhaps the chef isn't much of a talker? The proprietress is very attentive.

The chef serves yakitori made with great care. The 5 recommended skewers are a must. Perhaps it's how well they pair with the food, but the clean, refined sake selection suited my tastes, and I really enjoyed it! My wife was satisfied too. We had a great time!

The food tastes good. It doesn't feel nice being forced to order yakitori for everyone when visiting as a group.
