Lovely tempura shop
View on GoogleOn the Tuesday before my day off, I went to 荻窪 in Tokyo's 杉並区 for a work request. On my way back to work, I had lunch at 【てんぷら矢吹】 in 高井戸東 in the same district, ordering the 「特製 天丼」, which was relatively reasonably priced⁉︎ among the dishes they serve 😅 I waited while listening to the light crackling sounds of the ingredients frying, and when the tendon arrived, I got a little excited by the ingredients sticking out from under the bowl's lid 🤤 With a not-too-sweet sauce and moderately moist batter, there were five shrimp lined up, kisu, squid and small-shrimp kakiage, and mountain yam and broccoli tempura 😊 It was a light tendon with a rich, appetite-stimulating aroma, so despite its generous size, I polished it off easily ☺️ They also have parking, so I'd like to visit again when I'm nearby 😋
View on GoogleFor better or worse, an ordinary tempura restaurant. The tempura oil smells a little. At this price, I thought they could perhaps use fresh oil.
View on Google2023.9 It had been a while since my last visit, but it really is completely different from the roughly 1000円 offerings at chain restaurants. I found myself wondering whether it had always been this delicious. The shrimp are small, but have a strong shrimp flavor and a nice springy texture. The kakiage, kisu, eggplant, and green pepper are all delicious. At first I thought the rice could use a little more sauce, but the tempura itself had plenty, and as I ate I started thinking this might be just right. The portion was thoroughly satisfying too. The red miso soup has 2 shrimp heads in it (as it always has), but they poke the inside of your mouth, so I could do without them. Also, it's salty and slightly lukewarm, which loses points. Since lunch costs nearly 2000円, I hadn't been for a while, but I'd like to come occasionally. …………………………………………… 2025.3 return visit About a year and a half since my previous visit. Many restaurants raised their prices considerably over the past year. The lunch tendon here went up by just 50円. Moreover, recent posted photos made it look as though the portions had grown, and they actually had. The miso soup ingredients had changed from shrimp heads to tofu, which I appreciate more. The tendon sauce still felt a little sparse, so I asked for a bit more, and they kindly brought it in a separate dish. Thanks to that, I enjoyed a delicious meal. I'm changing my rating. Overall 4→5, food 4→5, service 3→4, atmosphere 4→4
View on GoogleLunch at a tempura restaurant I'd been curious about for a while. 特製天丼, 2,000円. Since I'm taking a day off, a beer too. The tempura includes shrimp, kisu, kakiage, eggplant, and broccoli. The sauce is strong, as you'd expect in Tokyo. The tempura is maybe a little soggy? The red miso soup contains shrimp heads. I asked for less rice, but it was still quite substantial and I enjoyed it. But 900円 for a medium bottle of beer is a little expensive…
