An izakaya run by a fishmonger in Matsunoki, Suginami. Seafood goes without saying, but they also have a selection of delicious snacks that are just right for people who enjoy a drink.
View on GoogleEverything is delicious, the portions are decent, and it's ridiculously cheap. I wouldn't say double, but personally I'd have no problem even with prices 1.5 times higher. The only drawback is that you may need to time your orders a little because the owner is so busy. I thought it best to order early, judging your own pace, the time it takes for food to arrive, and how busy the owner is, without letting the alcohol get the better of you. I'm grateful that despite being busy, he even saw me off when I left. Update I liked it and promptly made a second visit. It was nearly full, but they seated me at the counter. The customers who seemed to be regulars were all nice, and the atmosphere was very comfortable. The owner, running the kitchen alone, was incredibly busy. Handling a full house was difficult, and the food I'd ordered never arrived. So I made the somewhat demanding request, “If you haven't made it yet, please cancel it and give me ochazuke,” and he obliged. As I was leaving, the owner said, “I'm sorry~,” but there was absolutely no need. I also got to chat with his mother and the fish shop's owner, making for an enjoyable evening drink.
View on GoogleIt turned out to be an izakaya run by a fish shop called 魚不二…? Things seem difficult because the proprietress has been ill, but they're doing their best with customer service. It's reasonably priced, with plenty of recommended dishes beyond the menu. The beer is lukewarm, though… haha, consider that part of its charm…
View on GoogleDrop in casually and unwind” describes this place perfectly. Whether with a group or on your own (о´∀`о) Since it's run by 魚不二, the fish is guaranteed to be delicious. Also, apparently the tofu is from Kyoto, sourced at the fish market. Naturally, it's different from cheap supermarket tofu sold at 3 packs for 100円. The tofu salad in the photo is delicious and generously sized, yet only 450円❗ It's technically an izakaya, but I can't drink alcohol, so I just kept eating haha. Fried rice and set meals start at around 500円, making it easy on the wallet. It's also nice to stop by after work and soothe your tiredness.
View on GoogleI went to try the place with a friend! They had fresh sashimi, grilled hokke, ginkgo nuts, and shiokara. Whatever we ate, we couldn't stop saying how delicious it was~ They also have a wide range of alcoholic drinks. 😊 I went after work, then made it home all the way to Ichikawa! Definitely give it a visit!
