An izakaya spanning three generations. In the grandfather's day, it was a sushi restaurant. The beautiful granddaughter runs the evening operation. Her father prepares the anago sushi during the day, so it's available in the evening too. The proprietress seems to like sake, and the drinking vessels are lovely too. The interior is spacious.
View on GoogleA place like the home of relatives who are great cooks The appeal here is the warm atmosphere, as though you're visiting relatives and enjoying a drink over a meal. Even on your first visit, there's a comfort that naturally puts you at ease. You can enjoy Japanese, Western, and Chinese food. Even the daily otoshi served first, with 3 items on one plate, is already impressive. It's full of homemade warmth and care, like something “made by an auntie and an older female relative who are great cooks.” The anago prepared by the uncle is also the real deal: fragrant and full of savory flavor. Besides the main menu, the daily recommendations are appealing too. Whenever the occasionally offered 「メンチカツ」「エビドリア」「カレーライス」 appear, that alone puts a grin on my face. There's a good selection of both shochu and sake. And the prices are surprisingly low for these days, to the point that I almost feel guilty and ask, “Is it really okay to charge this little?” Sit alone at the counter and watch them cook. Spend time chatting as a pair. Have a gathering with friends in the tatami area at the back. Whatever the occasion, you can enjoy yourself comfortably. And at the end, the beautiful mother and daughter see you to the exit with smiles. It's such a warm place that you can't help saying, “That was delicious! I'll be back.
View on GoogleAround 14時30分, while wandering around looking for lunch, I happened to spot the sign. The sashimi was fresh! The little side dishes were delicious too! The miso soup was warming as well! The chopstick rests were cute, and the calm atmosphere was really lovely.
View on GoogleWe arrived just before last orders, but they welcomed us warmly. The food and drinks were delicious, and above all, the wonderful personalities of the young proprietress and her mother won us over. We'll definitely visit again.
View on GoogleThe official short name is 「わわ」 (haha). It's a highly recommended place when visiting 西荻窪✨ You can comfortably go alone too✨
