It feels like a sushi restaurant loved by the locals. I think it's rare to find sushi of this quality in Tokyo at this price (1600円, if I remember correctly). It's among the most satisfying sushi lunches I've ever had. I gave my star rating based on that satisfaction. I'd definitely like to visit for dinner next time.

For lunch, I visited a sushi restaurant near Kugayama Station that I'd been curious about for a while. Nigiri sushi for 1,600円, and 雁木 sake from Yamaguchi Prefecture. The unfiltered, unpasteurized, undiluted junmai ginjo goes down nicely even without snacks. It comes with salad and chawanmushi. The chawanmushi is simple, but the dashi flavor comes through. The sushi consists of 8 pieces of nigiri and tekka maki rolls. The wild flounder and raw octopus are especially delicious. The red-vinegar sushi rice is lovely, and the nori is good too. We received some goma saba flakes on the house. The soup contains sweet shrimp heads and is rich. It was a satisfying lunch.

Simply delicious! A sushi restaurant loved by locals. It was bustling with regulars, and the atmosphere was wonderful and very comfortable. Lunch is great value: everything in the photo plus chawanmushi and salad, all for ¥1400! I'll definitely be back!

Good value for money. The taste matches the price. It really bothers me that the owner cooks without a mask while talking nonstop with regulars at the counter. We're no longer in the COVID pandemic, but if he's going to keep talking, I'd like him to wear a mask.
