i had a very lovely grilled eel (unagi) meal here! i first booked via tabelog, but the shop cancelled my reservation, and left a message that they couldn't contact me by phone. then i booked again and stated to contact by email only since i was using a roaming data card in japan. finally it went fine with the booking. the set was chosen in advance when i booked online. it was a very full set with appetizers, eel bowl and dessert; that's very deluxe for a lunch set. there were 9 things to eat from the appetizer platter. the shirako, crab rice ball and oyster were amazing. each food they cooked it individually, and each had its unique flavour. then it came the main star of the set - the eel bowl. it was made to order so came as very hot and full of steam! smelled really good. the eel was just cooked and very juicy in the middle with crispy grilled edge. i'd say it tasted good even without the sauce! it went so well with the japanese local rice. then the set ended up by a almond pudding. the staff did come up and apologies for cancelling the booking, can tell their sincerity and no worries, it was all fine ;) it's a great place for eel bowl and i definitely recommend it.

View on GoogleUnafuji in front of Igusa Hachimangu gate. Visited with a reservation to celebrate my wife's birthday. Since I ordered in advance when making the reservation, I am very happy that there is no waiting time. Unaju (the picture is Tokujo), shirayaki, and eel skewers with the best domestic eel, truly very satisfied. Next time I definitely want to try the Tenju which looks very delicious.
View on GoogleVery delicious. The eel meat was thick and soft. The sauce balance is perfect👌 The taste of the pickles and soup is also not strong, it felt light and balanced so you can feel the sweetness of the eel more! What I ordered was Unaju (Tokujo), the price is 5,960 yen. I think it's a just right price for Tokujo!
View on GoogleFrom Ogikubo Station North Exit, take any Kanto Bus [Ogi 30-36] and get off at "Igusa Hachimangu" stop (nostalgic because it used to be in front of the vegetable market). Although many people make reservations, sometimes you can enter without one. I had the "Fuji" which has the most volume as a reward for myself, and it was delicious. It's been a while since I visited, but the atmosphere inside the shop is calm and you can enjoy your meal in a relaxed manner.
