The best Soba shop in Tokyo...Meal sizes are supersized, staff is welcoming and this restaurant takes you at least 50-70 years back in time. It's our go to place almost every week.

I was in Kugayama and stumbled across this place. A pleasant surprise, as the food was very reasonably priced and the soba here was one the nicest places in Tokyo! Plus the atmosphere was very nice! Got the akebono set which was Katsu-don with a choice of either Soba or Udon (either hot or cold), all for 1100yen. Katsu-don was also very fluffy and nice! Definitely recommend visiting here if you are around the area!

Nice soba noodle shop. We enjoyed beer and zaru soba. Spacious and relaxing atmosphere are so good. Cash only.

【曙定食／1,100円】at 2025/2 This soba restaurant is on the right, a short walk along Hitomi Kaido from Kugayama Station's south exit. Inside, there are individual counter seats on the right, about ５ tables seating ４ on the left, and a large raised seating room at the back. I came at lunchtime, shortly after opening at 11時半, but nearly every seat except the back room was occupied, and I just managed to get the last table. I ordered a set with katsudon, noodles, salad, and other sides. For the noodles, I chose hot soba. The hot soba contains tempura crumbs and wakame, so I think the set is quite good value. The katsudon was about what I'd expect for the price, but as I ate the soba, the sweetness of the broth and the artificial seasoning taste in the dashi began to bother me. It lingered for quite a while after eating too. It was my first visit, and the restaurant is clean and the staff are kind, but the seasoning wasn't to my taste. Lunch rating＝２．７
