It's been a while since a sushi restaurant made me think, “I'd like to come back and take my time.” Perhaps because of the bad weather that day, we practically had the place to ourselves. Thanks to that, I got to chat a lot with the owner and learned all sorts of things, from how to eat sushi to fish and preparation. I had a wonderful time. It felt like a little sushi class, as though I'd been taught the basics of sushi all over again. Every dish tasted of careful workmanship. From individual dishes to nigiri, the quality of each ingredient really came through, and everything was delicious. The silver-skinned fish in particular had a perfect balance of fat and curing, with a flavor that made me want some sake. The sense of distance across the counter was just right too, and I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy delicious sushi quietly. I'd like to return in a different season.

When I called, a man with a flippant manner answered, “Thanks for your hard wooork, goodbyeee,” and wouldn't listen to me. He may have mistaken it for a sales call, but I saw an ugly side of human nature. If someone like this is serving customers, it might not be worth going... Such a shame...

The place for the most delicious fresh fish around Koenji at fair prices. With a friendly chef-owner and proprietress, it's a welcoming, homey place that's easy to drop into.
