For dinner. One of our family's 3 go-to yakiniku restaurants in 新高円寺. The meat quality is so high and the value so good that you wonder whether it's almost sold at cost, and everything is delicious. Alcohol is cheap too; even these days, you can get a medium mug of draft beer for 500円. The owner works alone in the kitchen, so service takes a little longer when it's busy, and it might not suit people wanting to rush through a meal. His wife also seems a little distant, but she is considerate toward families with children, offering service that reveals a hidden kindness.

An old-fashioned Korean yakiniku restaurant with tables and tatami seating, offering incredible value. The beef tongue at 1480円 was very tender and surprisingly delicious despite being thinly sliced (though in the photo, it's served in a shockingly frozen state). The harami and rosu are lightly seasoned too, but offer more than their price suggests.

Visited on a Friday night, and it was almost full. It had been a while, but it's as satisfying as ever! The proprietress works efficiently on the floor alone, and at first she seems hard to approach, but when you talk to her, she tells you all sorts of things. Above all, the value is incredible, with prices so low you worry whether they're doing okay, yet the quality is high. It's comfortable too, and although I don't really want to tell too many people about it, it's a place I'd like you to try at least once.
