I went in because I was craving shogayaki. ・Nice that the seating feels spacious! ・Nice that the miso soup has lots of green onions! ・Nice that they are open until 23:00! You can enjoy consistently delicious set meals. Thank you for the meal.

How should I put it? It was a dinner made with love. A heartwarming time. Everything was delicious, but the nabeyaki curry udon was especially good. There seem to be regular menu items and other dishes (written in chalk on a blackboard). The owner cooks alone, so depending on how busy the restaurant is, it might sometimes take a little longer, but the wait was normal in my case.

This is Shokudo Bancho, near Asagaya Station. Places serving this kind of home-style cooking generally open in the morning, whereas this one only opens in the afternoon and evening, which makes it feel even more precious. That day, there were several groups of customers who had come after work or with their families. I think it is a very valuable place in the neighborhood. Go all the way down the stairs and inside, and there are tables and counter seats. The counter faces the kitchen, but it is not completely open, so the separation works well. It is not uncomfortable, and I liked that they have arranged it so you can see the cooking. The menu is overhead, and there are so many choices that it is hard to decide. Ordering one individual dish and adding rice as a set seems like the best option. I ordered egg chashu. Rice, soup, and side dishes are not included by default, so you might feel the price adds up more than expected for this kind of place. I did too. Still, just being able to enjoy handmade, home-style dishes in the evening was nice for me, so it did not feel like a particularly burdensome expense. These dishes take some effort, and both the food and the friendliness are good! Both the chashu and the eggs came more thoroughly cooked, which suited my taste perfectly. They even seemed a little burnt, but I liked that. Rather than the usual thick chashu where you chew through the fatty parts, theirs is thinly sliced and cooked hard, which worked well for me. The eggs were nicely cooked too. All the other side dishes were good as well. It really felt as though they had bought groceries at somewhere like My Basket and then cooked them themselves for us. The rice was especially good, which made the whole meal feel really solid. I enjoyed the meal!

I stopped by for the first time on my way back from the public bath ♨️. There were several homemade chashu items on the menu, so I figured chashu was their specialty and ordered the chashu egg set meal, potato salad, and draft beer. As expected, the chashu egg was like ham and eggs with chashu replacing the ham, but unfortunately the chashu was a little dry and underwhelming… 😅 Apart from the chashu, honestly everything was delicious: the fried eggs, potato salad, broccoli garnish, and miso soup. 😊 Both the owner and the girl who seemed to be a part-time worker provided polite service and made a good impression. There were various other dishes I wanted to try, so I will stop by again. 👍

A restaurant near Asagaya Station where you can get set meals even at night. You can order the main dishes individually, or add +280円 to make them a set meal. This time I had the ginzake no miso nizuke as a set meal. As shown in the photo, the salmon was about twice as thick as at other set-meal restaurants and was well seasoned. An excellent dish I can recommend both as a set meal and as a snack with drinks! It comes with side dishes for an affordable 990円! They also have daily specials, so I will go again!
