This ramen shop is located near the north exit of Asagaya Station. The specialty of this shop is "SHIRAKAWA RAMEN" from Fukushima Prefecture. The interior is simple and clean, with counter and table seating. An elegant waitress takes your order and you pay in advance. They serve you free chicken that is attached to the chicken bones used in the soup. The noodles are wide and curly, and have a nice texture that mixes well with the soup. The chicken soup is salted and has a simple yet rich flavor. The wontons are also recommended as they melt in your mouth. It is difficult to visit as it is only open during the day on weekdays, but it is a shop that is worth going to.

View on Google・Teuchi Chuka Zanmai (Shoyu) ¥1,380 On this day, on the recommendation of my mentor @gou.stagram1950, I headed to "アサガキタ" in Asagaya to have their Shirakawa ramen, which is still hugely popular 3 years after opening! This shop was founded in July 2023 by an owner who trained at the famous Fukushima Shirakawa ramen shop 「やたべ」. It's a Shirakawa ramen shop highly rated for its rich, crisp chicken-broth shoyu soup, chewy handmade noodles made every morning, and delicious charcoal-grilled chashu💁♂️ Asagaya has all kinds of food and is a fiercely competitive area crowded with famous ramen shops like 無冠 and あさが家, but SUSURU also raved that it's "delicious like a textbook example," and since it's only open for lunch, it's still hugely popular 3 years after opening! @asagayaasagakita 👈 Here's the shop's account! When I went with a junior colleague at 12:17 on a Thursday, the counter was full, but luckily a table was free💁♀️ I thought it might be better to get something where the soup and noodles are clearly visible, but since I can't come often, I ordered the most luxurious (looking) Teuchi Chuka Zanmai (Shoyu)! It arrived about 5 minutes later🍜 ・Soup The clear, beautiful amber soup has a deep richness, with the chicken umami slowly soaking in🤩 Rather than sharp, it feels like the shoyu wraps around the chicken umami! Plus the mellowness of the chicken oil adds to it, delicious😍 ・Noodles The noodles, handmade every morning, are firm, springy, and chewy! The uneven thickness is nice too, and the wheat aroma spreads with every bite, super delicious💯 ・Toppings The large nori stands out, but the arrangement of charcoal-grilled chashu, wontons, menma, naruto, and greens is well balanced too! First off, the umami-packed chashu and the slippery smooth wontons are delicious🤤 The greens also go well with the soup, and the seasoned egg is runny, high quality, and delicious! This authentic Shirakawa ramen with delicious chashu and wontons kept my chopsticks moving from start to finish, and the deliciousness lasted to the very end! I'm curious about the shio version of the teuchi chuka too, so I'll be back🥢 ■アサガキタ 東京都杉並区阿佐谷北2-11-1 3-minute walk (122m) from JR Asagaya Station ■Business hours: ・11:00 - 14:30 Every Wednesday the regular ramen is not served; operates under a different brand Closed a few days a year for store maintenance Business hours and closing days are subject to change, so please check with the shop before visiting. ■Regular holidays: not listed ■Payment: ・No cards ・No e-money ・QR code payment accepted (PayPay) ■Seats: 9 seats (7 counter seats, 2 table seats)
View on GoogleThe complimentary chicken carcass has such strong umami and shoyu flavor that the ramen that came afterward all tasted bland. I think if I hadn't eaten the chicken carcass, it would've tasted better. Also, the one with all the toppings has way too high a proportion of nori, so toward the end it just tastes like nori. Fine if you like nori, though.
View on GoogleIt's billed as Shirakawa handmade chuka, but they're always releasing all sorts of creative new chuka soba. Today I had the Hiyashi India (Indian-style cold chuka). There's no ticket machine; I paid cash in advance when ordering. Looks like PayPay works too. They post various updates on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram. For example, ・Ramen operations at this location are planned until 2027. If you want to eat here, now's the time. ・In July 2026, they apparently started using food-court-style pager buzzers to protect waiting customers from the extreme heat (trial run). You can wait somewhere cool, like inside Beans at the station. Open only 11:00〜14:30. At night it becomes a different pop-up izakaya, 「しんや食堂」, so be aware.
