The sushi in this restaurant are absolutely delicious. The atmosphere and welcome were wonderful and warm and we felt very comfortable. We will visit this special place again!

Just accompanying relatives on the last day of their one-week trip to Japan before returning to Taiwan, we wanted to try authentic sushi. Since it was right in front of 阿佐ヶ谷駅, the 4 of us chose 笹寿司 and ordered のり巻寿司, 上寿司, 特上寿司, 極上寿司, and bottled 朝日 beer. This restaurant, over 60 years old, provided a perfect ending to our relatives' trip to Japan, with the owners' friendly service and delicious sushi. We hope to have another chance to visit. Although the prices are slightly high, it is absolutely worth it. This is my first review; I hope it helps the restaurant and offers some encouragement to keep going.

My conclusion: this was an incredibly delicious sushi restaurant. Although other reviews were harsh, various circumstances left us with little choice but to visit. Some reviews called it a rip-off, so I looked around inside to check the prices first and saw signs saying tekka maki from 3000円 and nigiri also from 3000円... Feeling nervous, we asked if they could make sushi for around 10000円 for 5 people: 3 adults, a kindergarten child, and a child in the lower grades of elementary school. We agreed on 3000円 nigiri for each adult, then separate orders for the children. In the end, each child received 1 tekka maki roll and 1 kappa maki roll, along with lukewarm clear soup and fruit, for 1500円 each. We did not have any drinks, so the total was 12000円 for 5 people. The adults' 3000円 nigiri was truly delicious! I think we were served around 10 pieces, including tuna varieties, seared fish, white fish, squid, egg, tekka maki, and clear soup. Everything was so delicious that we were amazed. Some reviews said the fish toppings were dry, but we did not find that. The owner and his wife were lovely, and we enjoyed our meal comfortably. The Google reviews and the restaurant's exterior might make you hesitate to enter, but if you like sushi, please give it a visit! (There is no proper menu, so it might be best to state your budget at the beginning...)

They made the futomaki right away, And I was happy to take it home freshly made! Some people might lower their rating based only on the price... But I think the price reflects the care put into the work. I would like to come back and buy more.

I was nearby for work in month 9, so I thought I would take the opportunity to try a local establishment and visited. Around 18:30, there was only 1 customer at the counter. It had the feel of a long-established restaurant, so I was looking forward to the sushi, but as others had commented, the fish toppings were dry... When I gently mentioned this, the older man, perhaps the owner, responded as though he was angrily turning it back on me. It was very unpleasant. Such a shame, especially since the location is so good, right by 阿佐ヶ谷駅...
