It was a comfortable shop. It seemed to be run by an elderly man and woman. The prices were reasonable and the food was delicious. I ordered the zaru soba and mini katsudon set. I couldn't find it on the menu or the menu notices on the wall, but confirmed it existed through other people's reviews and ordered it. It seems to get ordered fairly often. When I asked, “Can I get zaru soba and katsudon as a set?”, they asked, “It'll be a mini katsudon, is that okay?” So I said, “Yes, please!” On Saturday, the shop was about 8 tenths full with solo customers and families. The solo customers were relaxing, smoking while watching TV or reading the manga and newspapers provided. I'm a nonsmoker, but the cigarette smell didn't bother me.

A characterful soba shop that feels like stepping back into the Showa era. The timeworn interior is lined with beautifully handwritten menus and posters of enka singers, with so much charm you'd almost want to designate it a cultural asset. In the evening, local regulars gather to chat over drinks, with soba to accompany them. That scene is another part of this shop's unique appeal. The menu centers on Edomae-style soba and udon, all with comforting, traditional flavors. Deeply rooted in the neighborhood and loved for many years, it's truly a celebrated shop from the “good old days.

A soba shop with a lingering Showa-era feel. I've visited 2 times. First time, tanuki soba Second time, niku nanban soba Very delicious. The prices are as low as a standing soba shop. They haven't used the recent rise in prices as an excuse to raise theirs. I'd like to stop by again when I'm nearby. Smoking is allowed, though, so it might be tough for nonsmokers.

I don't know about now, but they used to offer delivery, which I used often. I've never tried the soba, but I often go when I'm craving katsudon. The katsudon is delicious, so I recommend it!

Since about 40 years ago, whenever we had guests at home, we would order delivery from here. It's a familiar taste, so I find it delicious, but with the recent push to reduce salt, some people might find it a little salty. Recommended when you're completely exhausted and craving salt. An elderly man from the neighborhood often came out with a toothpick in his mouth and a thoroughly satisfied look, haha The crab drawn on the little dish holding the condiments was cute🦀
