Sanryutei Ogikubo Along Ome Kaido was a place that made me think, “You'd stop in if you saw a place looking like this, wouldn't you?” The display window and noren are Showa-era, and so are the celebrity autographs. Ordered tanmen for 690 yen. Nostalgic old-fashioned tanmen without sesame oil. I thought it had a much longer history, but surprisingly it was founded in Showa 58, when the owner started the shop at age 31.

The ramen is light and old-fashioned. The fried rice is old-fashioned too, but the amount of ingredients is very small for the price, throwing off the flavor balance. It's a shame, since just increasing the chashu and naruto? would add more flavor.

A comfortable Chinese restaurant. It felt like having lunch at my parents' home. I ordered vegetable-packed tanmen and fried rice. I ended up ordering things whose flavors don't vary much… The fried rice was on the moist side, but even the half portion was piled high in a rice bowl, so the quantity was very satisfying! I think I'd like to try some other dishes too…

I went for the first time in about 1 year, and the mapo-don was still bursting with its own one-of-a-kind personality! The miso flavor is strong, so it might divide opinions!

The tanmen was delicious! The half fried rice was smoky and delicious too! It's a flavor chain restaurants can't produce!
