Visited around 13:00 on a weekday in November 2022. The L-shaped counter seats about 10, and there were 4 customers already. I ordered 正油らーめん for 700円 with a chashu topping for 250円 and half rice for 150円, totaling 1,100円. It was ready after about 17 minutes. One sip of the broth brought an unexpectedly powerful hit of niboshi. Rich in umami and delicious. The noodles are thin and straight, a little soft and somewhat stodgy. I prefer more bite. The chashu is loin meat, with a lovely texture that feels firm as your teeth enter, then falls apart tenderly. Each chew slowly releases the savory flavor of the simmered pork; truly well made. Putting about 3 slices on the rice and sprinkling pepper over them made a delicious homemade mini chashu bowl that had me sincerely thinking, “My strategy was right.” Absolutely stuffed, thank you for the meal. Next time I'd like to try the miso ramen.
View on GoogleA ramen shop a little way from 富士見ヶ丘 Station. The ramen is so good it's puzzling that the place is always quiet. A real hidden gem. The exterior has the style of an old-fashioned ramen shop, but the ramen tastes quite modern. The soy sauce ramen has a fairly oily broth with a strong niboshi flavor reminiscent of 大勝軒. The miso is rich and thick, with a lovely miso aroma. The salt ramen has a refreshing broth with plenty of stock flavor. The noodles are thin with a firm texture. Every variety is delicious. And for the price, this flavor is really good. I'd recommend this place over joining that huge queue in 永福町 on the same train line.
View on GoogleThere were always people here whenever I walked past, so I was curious! 🍜 The Showa-era exterior and retro feel somehow made it look like the food would be good (haha). I ordered soy sauce ramen and gyoza! There were about 4 people at the counter, but my food arrived in around 10 minutes! Both the ramen and gyoza were delicious 😊 Next time I want to try the miso!!
View on GoogleI'd been curious about this place for more than a decade and finally visited. Judging by the shop's name, I thought this might be its specialty, so I had a large miso ramen(700+100=800円). The toppings are chashu(2 slices), menma, bean sprouts, chopped green onions, and a little carrot. The chashu has a firm bite, which I like. I don't think the vegetables were stir-fried. The noodles are thin and tightly curled. Quite soft. A large serving contains 2 portions of noodles; a medium has 1.5. The broth looks very dark and rich. The saltiness stood out more than the miso flavor… but the generously sized bowl and ample broth left a good impression. Inside, there's only an L-shaped counter. As of March 2023, no alcohol is served, so you can't stop in for a quick drink. It wasn't bad enough to say “I'll never go again,” so perhaps I'll give it another try with medium soy sauce ramen and firmer noodles?
View on GoogleThis shop opened in Showa 63. The exterior feels nostalgic, while the ramen tastes first-rate. Choose from soy sauce, salt, or miso. The seafood-based stock reminiscent of 大勝軒 pairs beautifully with the mellow soy sauce. Rather than loads of pork back fat, it's the combination of lard quietly floating on the surface and the broth that brings back memories. So delicious~.
