-The chef looks very dedicated and friendly. -All foods are delicious and diverse. -Price are reasonable. -The menu is all written in japanese. -Recommended for 1-3 people. It's hard to take larger group, since it only have counter seats. Good place to go overall. This restaurant deserve more recognitions.
View on GoogleI'm going to really stretch to call it a low four stars. No, I couldn't have a cup of coffee without a meal, but at least they offered to let me drink the ice water they'd already put out. Only nine stools around a little counter. Menu looks okay, but not good enough to use for one of my rare chances to actually eat lunch out. (I was actually aiming for a more promising place nearby, but they were closed today.)
View on Googlecozy place and good taste!
View on GoogleIn an area with many eateries whose owners are eccentric and whose quality is low, this place is in a class of its own; the owner seems genuinely serious about cooking. Each dish is prepared very carefully, so the number of lunches they can serve seems limited—perhaps they finish after one turnover of the counter seats. I shared both keema and gapao with a friend; they were adapted to Japanese tastes, very easy to enjoy, with pleasant spices, and delicious. The vinegared side dish was sweet and sour, just to my taste.
View on GoogleA small shop on a main road between Takaido on the Inokashira Line and Ogikubo on the Chuo Line. It only has counter seating, and the owner was running it alone. Since the shop is named “Keema,” I had keema curry. The handwritten menu has great style. Did the owner make that too? The little shop was full, so I waited for the food, but the plate that appeared could be described in one phrase: “really elaborate” Curry, rice, achar, salad, and yogurt were arranged closely together on the plate, looking cute. The flavor lived up to the Keema name, with incredible savory flavor and springiness in the minced meat. The acidity and heat were restrained too, making it a taste quite a wide range of people could enjoy. This makes the hamburger steak promising as well. I like my curry quite spicy, but this curry is delicious enough just as it is. I'd appreciate slightly faster food service, perhaps through advance payment or fewer menu items.
