A cozy little local museum where you can mainly see exhibits about the history of the Ogikubo area. There seems to be a 2nd-floor area too, but it was closed when I visited. It's nice that you can enjoy it for free.

June 2026 I stopped by during a regular walking association event. The East Building is used as an air-conditioned cool-down spot in summer.

The highlight is Munakata Shiko's Setchin Kannon (toilet Kannon)! They recreated the toilet and reproduced the Setchin Kannon from photos — I'm glad I got to see it.

The exhibition was interesting too (「荻窪時間散歩」 / "Ogikubo Time Stroll"), but the garden was so beautiful! It was raining, which made it even more atmospheric. Ogikubo, with spaces like this here and there, is wonderful, isn't it? And the staff at the annex were surprisingly courteous and kind, which made me so happy!! I was also able to buy the catalog for the kimono exhibition I missed at the main building. Satisfied, satisfied!!

Visited around noon on October 19, 2025 An annex of the Suginami City Local History Museum, located in Amanuma Benten Pond Park north of Ogikubo Station That day I walked from Ogikubo Station to Amanuma Hachiman Shrine, paid my respects, and then went to the park The park was quiet, and at the Suginami City Local History Museum there was an exhibition of paintings of farm work scenes by Katayama Shunpan (片山春帆), which I checked out, ya know Inside there were also exhibits about Suginami and the surrounding area, and in front of the first-floor reception there was a chair designed by Okamoto Taro and an exhibit about Munakata Shiko too, y'see
