A wonderful building. The fact that you can tour the interior for free makes it even better. This place alone might be a bit much to come for, but since you can enjoy the three Ogikubo gardens together, it's worth coming even from outside the ward. It's a Nationally Registered Tangible Cultural Property that served as Mr. Otaguro's workspace, preserved on the western side of the lawn in the park. This memorial hall was built in Showa 8 and was a rare Western-style building for its time. Inside, his beloved piano, gramophone and other items are on display. The pink exterior is so lovely, just the best.

View on GoogleOne day in December of Reiwa 6, I visited during a morning stroll. W-what is this! Such a calming house. A piano was playing solo. Very soothing. Extremely lovely. It was so calming that I somehow got sleepy. A living room where everything looks comfortable. How nice, I'd love to live elegantly in a place like this too. Just beautiful. But my salary isn't enough, and I was pulled back to reality. I imagine the cleaning and maintenance staff work really hard to keep this up. Thank you. I can keep going tomorrow too.
View on GoogleBoth the park and the residence are open for free. Here and there you can spot an adorable sense of style that makes girls' hearts flutter. The tile-style wallpaper combining pink and blue is somewhat fairy-tale-like, something you rarely see in modern architecture. The building itself is pink too. A lamp shaped like a sailing ship. The covers of his works as a music critic are cute in a retro way. He also had a side as a photographer and a nostalgic, Nagai Kafu-style lover of strolls, and it was interesting to see old photos of Tokyo.
