Decent but we waited almost one and a half hours for a table

Best takoyaki in Tokyo!

There’s an okonomiyaki restaurant about a ten-minute walk from 阿佐ヶ谷駅 along 中杉通り. The interior has that quintessential okonomiyaki-shop feel, full of character. Takeout is available, but I ate inside to enjoy the atmosphere! The okonomiyaki is delicious, but I recommend the takoyaki. 10 pieces for 550 yen Preferences will differ, but these are soft and squishy both outside and inside. When I make takoyaki at home, the outside turns crisp, but this style works too, I think… They look black (perhaps the sauce is charred?), and the mayonnaise is mild. The 明石焼き is basically cooked to the same softness, without sauce. Since it’s not very familiar to people from 関東, I end up ordering it every time❣️

Found this while out walking. It’s a place for drinks even though it isn’t right by the station. いか焼き is rare in 東京, so the sign drew me in. I bought some to take away as a snack and ate it immediately. The open kitchen (haha) whetted my appetite, and it lived up to expectations. I was bothered by the tax-exclusive pricing and the 10% tax despite ordering takeout. Next time I’d like to enjoy it slowly over drinks.

Reliably good okonomiyaki. The ピリ辛ホルモン is addictive. The takoyaki is delicious too.
