A Chinese noodle specialty shop located between JR Asagaya Station and Marunouchi Line Minami-Asagaya Station. When I was a student, it was also in Shinjuku and Yokohama, and I often used it because I liked the unique flavor and wontons. Since all the shops suddenly closed, I felt disappointed, but I got information on the internet that it had revived, so I was looking forward to it. A shop that only has a counter, it seems to be run by the owner and his wife, The menu is based on soy sauce and salt, and the way to decide is by the combination of toppings at the ticket machine. [Wontonmen Shoyu] 1,050 yen I ordered that, and it was served in about 5 minutes. A slightly cloudy soy sauce soup with medium noodles submerged, wontons, chashu, menma, green onions, seasoned egg, and seaweed on top. The soup is a double soup that adds seafood bases like tuna flakes to a chicken broth base, and it is a well-balanced taste with soy sauce. Compared to the previous impact, I think it has become a bit more elegant, but it goes well with the wheat-scented noodles and is delicious, and I almost cried because of the nostalgic flavor. Wonton skins also have a smooth and comfortable texture in the mouth, and the filling inside has a firm texture, an excellent finish where you can feel the taste of minced meat. The chashu is also soft and has a gentle taste, and the "Chashu-men" also looks delicious. However, the specialty here is "Gokai Ramen" with thick-cut chashu, so I want to visit again next time to aim for gokai.
View on GoogleAbout 30 years ago, when it was still on Honan-dori, I often visited, and after that expansion of the shop and temporary closure, revival at the Ramen Museum, and the second shop in Asagaya, I have been chasing it across the ages. Second visit at this place. When eating the soup, noodles, and chashu, the wonderful nostalgic taste that reminds me of those days✨ The slightly larger gyoza with hot filling containing a little vermicelli is also still delicious. I didn't eat it today, but I also recommend the salt-flavored gokai ramen which has an origin that the first generation entrusted to his son. This is a favorite shop that I want to keep operating. Thank you for the meal.
View on GoogleLunch at an old ramen shop along Nakasugi-dori, Asagaya Station south exit. Genkotsu-ya is a famous shop that played a role in the Tokyo ramen scene of the 80s, but disappeared once and succeeded in reviving. I also remember, about 40 years ago when I was a child, being taken by my parents to the shop that was at the entrance of Asagaya Pearl Center (where Hokkaido Ramen Ajimaru is now). When entering the shop, there is a ticket machine on the right in front of the eyes. This time, I chose Genkotsu Ramen following the law of the top left ticket machine. The taste has "Shoyu" and "Shio", and I will go with "Shoyu". In addition to that, I also bought a ticket for the limited lunch set (rice with one large gyoza for 250 yen). Handed over the ticket and waited for a while. The seats have a counter and several tables for 2 people, but it is not very spacious. Because I visited just before the end of lunch hours, there were no previous or subsequent customers. Well, it's served. At a glance, this is a classic evolution of Chinese noodles... or rather a classic minor change, a classic generic type. It's nice that a half-boiled egg is included by default. First from the soup... yes, the taste is truly a classic evolution, a classic minor change, a classic generic type. Seafood-based and animal-based is added there, giving a mellow impression. Delicious! The noodles are thick noodles and slightly curly. It seems to be homemade noodles, and these noodles are also good. The chashu has a texture and taste like ham, there are 2 pieces. This chashu is also not bad, but the impression "is chashu that reminds me of ham correct?" cannot be erased. That large gyoza, I bit into it while thinking "this could burn my tongue if I'm not careful...", and sure enough, I burned my tongue. Although it was delicious. Because it's a taste I ate when I was a child, I don't remember, but it was a delicious ramen that made me feel nostalgic! Thank you for the meal!
View on GoogleAs many people have written, for me this is also one of the tastes of memories. When I happened to find the name in the Asagaya column on Tabelog, my excitement increased and I only had expectations of when to go. Soy sauce or salt, what did I eat in the past. For now I chose the classic soy sauce, but... Somehow a couple's fight started in the kitchen... Somehow, it was not a reunion with the moving taste of memories Or rather, is the genkotsu ramen that was so delicious like this taste? ... Maybe the peak was when there was an old wooden tray.
View on Google30 years ago when I was a student, I often visited the shop behind Isetan Shinjuku. Because of the cold and nostalgia, I ate it after a long time, and the deliciousness that used to make me addicted is still there. Simple and well-balanced, soy sauce ramen, I'm happy that an egg is included by default. The gyoza is also large, full of meat juice, and delicious. This shop also has tables, so it was easy to enter.
