The chef’s dedication and care when choosing ingredients and tools are wonderful, and they come through in the food. When I asked why he was so particular about his cutting board, he said it was out of meticulous concern for hygiene. Impressive.
View on GoogleI wish I’d known about this place sooner! “What do you recommend today?” “Everything,” the chef answered with a smile. The nigiri is shaped with an incredibly exquisite balance, and every bite is blissfully delicious. They also have plenty of individual dishes prepared with great time and care. Carefully selected seasonal ingredients are cooked with such attention that every dish brings a moment of happiness. Even the soy sauce and ponzu are homemade. Everything has a deliciousness you won’t find elsewhere. The uncompromising chef isn’t scaaary at all, but very kind and good at making you laugh. (The bill is kind, too.) It’s 1 minute from Hamadayama Station, but sits quietly tucked away in a peaceful residential neighborhood. (It’s lively inside.)
View on GoogleIt’s in a residential neighborhood, so you might get lost on your first visit. At first glance, you could mistake it for a house. But step through the noren curtain and you’ll find a lovely sushi restaurant. This time a friend reserved a private room for us. Besides the sushi, you can enjoy individual dishes. You can also order a chef-selected sashimi platter, so do give that a try. You can also savor whale meat fresh enough to eat as sashimi. This time we had it grilled. It tasted like beef and was very delicious. We also ordered 10 pieces of omakase sushi. Every piece was delicious. The affordable prices are much appreciated. It’s a place I’d like to keep visiting.
View on GoogleI see comments saying both the food and chef are good, but the proprietress’s terrible service is also the chef’s responsibility. They only seem gentle in manner; their poor character shows in how they treat people.
View on GoogleA neighborhood restaurant I visit once a month. A succession of dishes comes before the nigiri. The refined craftsmanship and just a hint of home-style seasoning strike an exquisite balance. You can enjoy many dishes made with seasonal ingredients. Their specialties, sardine gyoza and buri shabu-shabu, are something I look forward to every year. Of course, the nigiri is outstanding too! It’s comfortable, and the bill is gentle. It’s worth making a special trip from far away. In fact, many guests come from afar, and apparently many foreign visitors come through word of mouth too.
