I went to Suginami Mangetsu for lunch after a long time! I ordered the Edomae Anago Ten Seiro! The soba was the same as before, but the soup was a little less than usual, which made me nervous. My partner ordered Seiro and Tanuki Soba. I tasted a little of the tanuki soba! Delicious! The restaurant was quite crowded! Lots of delicious looking sake ‼️ One of my favorite brands was there! I used to have a party here, but due to the current situation, I haven't been able to do so for a while. I would love to compare the different brands.
View on GoogleI will never forget this place! I stayed in an airbnb near by and found this restaurant. If you want authentic Japanese cuisine, this small gem in Suginami is the place you want to go. Outfitted with tatami rooms and Japanese style decor, we loved all the food they served us. Sadly, the menu was all in Japanese so the majority was using Google translate to translate the menu for us by taking a picture, but the staff was very helpful and welcomed us back. I would definitely stop for a visit here the next time I come to Japan.

View on GoogleI visited「杉並まん月」for dinner. I'd been curious about it after hearing about its reputation for some time, and went to enjoy Japanese food and soba at a leisurely pace. This time I had sashimi and individual dishes, followed by soba to finish. The sashimi was fresh, with the flavor of each fish coming through clearly, and paired wonderfully with alcohol. The individual dishes were carefully prepared too, and everything we ordered was reliably delicious. The soba left the strongest impression. It had a lovely aroma and an exquisite balance of firmness and smoothness going down, making it perfect to finish the meal. It was a pleasure to enjoy such well-made soba at a Japanese restaurant, and the meal was highly satisfying right through to the end. The interior has a calm atmosphere where you can enjoy a leisurely meal. I felt it would suit a wide range of occasions, including dates, family meals, and dining gatherings. The staff were courteous and the setting comfortable, making the entire visit pleasant. I'd especially recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to enjoy both Japanese food and delicious soba. Next time I'd like to try seasonal limited dishes along with sake.
View on GoogleAn irresistible place for sake lovers! There's a wide sake lineup, and the menu looks like an encyclopedia, with so many sakes I want to drink. It's always crowded, so you should make a reservation. There are calm private rooms too, and it's comfortable. Besides soba, there are plenty of appetizers, all carefully made and delicious. For the soba, they carefully select domestically produced, stone-ground buckwheat flour and insist on freshly made noodles. The smooth texture going down and the soba aroma are superb. I eat half of mine plain, just the soba, to enjoy its flavor. And my top recommendation is their 板そばの刺身! It's a dish I really want you to try. The service is wonderful too, courteous even when they're crowded and busy. Since it's in a residential neighborhood, many customers bring children, and they're kind to children too.
