As someone from the Showa generation, hearing “small home-style restaurant” used to give me a strong image and expectation of delicious food, different from a Japanese restaurant or kappo… an older lady wearing a white kappogi apron welcoming you with home cooking. I opened the rickety entrance door🚪 and went in, but… An old house… that… stale… strange smell… ah… a mistake…? Since I'd entered, I felt I had to order something: eggplant and green peppers stir-fried with spicy miso, chicken karaage🍗, bottled beer (Heartland only) The lotus seeds served as the otoshi seemed questionable, so I didn't eat them. I wondered how they cooked in that tiny, tiny kitchen… then a portable gas stove was placed on top of a pile of belongings… huh?… there?… I thought perhaps they should first tidy up the unnecessary odds and ends and unused cooking utensils… The prices are cheap, but… that's not really the point…
View on GoogleAn unexpected hidden gem, I have to admit. A local friend recommended it, and I was surprised that it tasted even better than I expected. I recommend it.
