The station layout is tragic. The north and south exits aren't connected. It's a difficult layout for older people, pregnant women, and people with disabilities. During the morning and evening rush, most people crossing to the other side to catch a bus or run errands either radiate silent irritation or wear an expressionless look of resigned acceptance. If you have to wait not only for express trains in both directions but also limited express trains, you can instantly become the protagonist of a tragedy. Sometimes you wait 5 minutes for the crossing gates to open. Yes, this station tests your patience.
View on GoogleThis is a station on the Seibu Shinjuku Line. There's a bronze statue of a black Gundam in front of the station.
View on GoogleI used it while traveling between work locations. Walking along the street in front of the station, I saw Gundam on a shop shutter!! I found out later… this was Gundam's birthplace 😳
View on GoogleI use it often. The station chime is also the Gundam opening theme, and there's a Gundam statue in front of the station. If you like Gundam, especially 1st Gundam, you should definitely visit.
View on GoogleThe platforms for the two directions aren't connected, so you have to cross the level crossing to reach the opposite platform. There are also few ticket gates, making it inconvenient.
