I wanted sushi! So I searched and tried this place because it had good ratings. I ordered 上海鮮丼, and it was certainly tasty, but perhaps average? Or slightly above average? Maybe my expectations had become too high, so it wasn't as good as I'd imagined. If asked whether I'd return, I'd hesitate a little, and I'd be reluctant to order an even higher tier, but if it were nearby, I might come for an occasional treat lunch. The interior was larger than expected, they seated people with one seat between them, and there were transparent dividers at the seats, which was reassuring. Entrance checks and sanitizing were thorough too, and this was the first place I'd seen with mask cases at the seats. They even provided each person with a small teapot, so they were taking extensive precautions. Much appreciated. In that sense, I wanted to come again. I'd like to try the marinated buri rice bowl that was sold out this time.

I stopped by because I got hungry while helping a friend look for a property around 荻窪駅. Seeing a restaurant in a standalone house for the first time in a while got me excited. Most places in Tokyo are inside larger buildings, after all. Even the entrance had character. I was surprised they offered lunch even on Saturdays, but the lavish lunch menu explained it. Once inside, I found counter seating, tables, and a simple semi-private room on the 1st floor. Lunch ranged from 800〜2000円, but everything looked good, making it hard to choose. I wanted a tempura rice bowl and ordered it, but it turned out to be a set meal. I'd assumed it was just the bowl. This much food for 800円 felt cheap. Lunch payments are cash only, it turns out. Apparently they accept credit cards at night. I'd like to eat here again.

Finding a grilled fish set meal in 荻窪 is fairly difficult, and this is where I ended up. It had been a while since I'd eaten at a restaurant in Tokyo, and I was a little surprised by how strict the coronavirus precautions were. It was my first time receiving something like a mask storage bag. I wanted salt-grilled fish but had miso-marinated grilled mackerel. Since I'd had a light breakfast, I wanted a hearty meal and chose the free large rice portion, adding a raw egg and natto too, but the crucial rice portion was far too small. It couldn't keep up with the amount of side dishes at all.

This Japanese-style izakaya has many high-quality menu items, and the food is very delicious. The 2nd floor can accommodate both small and large banquets.

Top-grade sashimi set meal, 2000円. I think there were 11 kinds, including ikura and uni, and I was very satisfied with both quantity and quality. It comes with chawanmushi too. Unlimited refills of rice and miso soup!!!! More than worth the price🎵
