Very comfortable Western-style (Yo-shoku) restaurant. Located near Suginami Public Hall (Kokaido), my wife and I had dinner here before a concert. I had the stir-fried beef and vegetables (Niku yasai itame) set meal and the pork stew (Buta-ni) set meal with the salad combo. Generous portions, delicious, and reasonably priced. All you can drink of the soft drinks are included.

About 35 seats downstairs with a sort of rustic atmosphere. Music is More modern, currently "All for You" by Janet Jackson. Big screen TV is showing Japanese news. Unusually friendly service helped persuade me to try something fancier than coffee from the nice menu. Lots of Wi-Fi available. Very nice chocolate ice cream ball with chocolate coating and pretty good coffee. The self-service drink bar makes it an especially good value. Definitely a strong four stars.

Cheese hamburg steak (free large rice portion, with miso soup and drink bar) 950円. A basement café along Ome Kaido, a little before Suginami Public Hall. I went just before the lunch last order at 15:00, but the very spacious restaurant was almost full. There are several daily-changing lunch options, and they come with rice, miso soup, and a drink bar, so they're good value. I chose the cheese hamburg steak from the daily menu. The sauce was demi-glace. The hamburg steak had a home-style feel, seemingly shaped by hand, with noticeable onion. It was fist-sized and satisfying. The accompanying salad had apple in it, another nice home-style touch. Rice refills used to be free, but apparently that has now changed to a free large portion. Since they told me that, I ordered a large portion, and it was absolutely huge. Sweat

Lunch is always busy, and some menu items were already sold out that day too. There are several daily-changing lunch options, and they come with a drink bar, so they're good value. That day I had the large katsu curry. The portion was enormous as always. Katsu curry on a large, long, narrow plate, topped with freshly fried katsu with a substantial crunchy coating. The curry sauce wasn't spicy and was slightly thick, a European-style restaurant curry. I was completely satisfied with both the taste and the portion.
