Many restaurants in 浜田山 are overrated, and this is one of them. The omakase course was, if I remember correctly, just under 6000円, which is inexpensive, but the portion made me think, "Huh? Is that all?". The sushi was poorly shaped too; the moment it was placed on the board, it tipped sideways and fell apart. We ordered other things we liked, but I wondered how they could confidently charge such high prices for this. The staff (father and son?) were talking with regular customers, criticizing places in Tokyo for only offering omakase at 2〜3万 per person, being expensive, lacking flexibility, and so on. But as people who regularly order those, we feel they offer far greater value.
View on GoogleIt was incredibly delicious😭 I went just before closing, but their thoughtful service even soothed my heart. I'm sorry I came so late😭 I'll come back with my family! It was the most delicious sushi restaurant in 浜田山! This will be my place from now on🙇♂ The head chef is handsome too😭
View on GoogleWhen I made a reservation that evening, I was asked whether I preferred the counter, so I requested it. When we arrived, there were no counter seats available, and the proprietress held us back, quietly saying, "Please put up with a table seat for just a little while." She made the excuse, "Some customers came in earlier." Isn't it the restaurant's fault for seating customers before us when there was a reservation? She wouldn't say how many minutes we needed to wait until I asked. When I did, she said, "About 30 minutes." While waiting, we ordered sashimi as an appetizer. When counter seats opened up and we tried to move, the proprietress asked, "If the sashimi assortment is at the counter, it'll be served on a large platter and you won't be able to eat it, so could you move after eating the sashimi?" This wasn't for our family's convenience, but I replied, "That's fine." Soon afterward, the proprietress became inexplicably angry, saying, "Customers keep coming in💢." When I tried to move, saying we'd move now then, she looked clearly displeased. She moved the walker my parent had brought as though it were in the way. Seeing this exchange, my parent was put off and said, "The table is fine now," at which point the proprietress smirked and said, "Are you sure?" After that, orders were slow to arrive. When we pointed out something we hadn't ordered, she said, "I'll take it away," without apologizing, and grabbed the nigiri with her bare hand from a plate still containing other sushi we were going to eat. When we told her the adults' hand rolls had no wasabi, she ignored it without even apologizing. I had wanted my parent, who is celebrating their 88th birthday this year and has a reduced appetite, to enjoy themselves a little and eat plenty while looking at the sushi ingredients and watching the chef make sushi. I can't help feeling bitter that dinner instead turned into such an unpleasant experience. Because I wanted us to have a good time, I didn't tell my family anything about the reservation mix-up, but both my parent and child said, "勘六 is better. We don't like this restaurant," and we left halfway through the meal. The head chef, the second-generation successor, and the sushi chefs are skilled, and their service isn't bad. But the proprietress really, really is the worst every single time. I've visited several times going back more than 10 years, and she makes me uncomfortable every time. No matter how much I want sushi, I never want to visit いろは寿司 again in my lifetime. Please be careful, everyone.
View on GoogleA delicious sushi restaurant in 浜田山. It seems reservations are necessary at night, but there appears to be more availability at lunch.
View on GoogleIt was my first visit, but the people I went with were repeat customers. I forgot to take photos on my phone, so I can't show you, but everything was delicious!
