I visited an Iekei ramen restaurant in Asagaya, Tokyo 🍜 Ikkakuya's Asagaya Station-front branch. It's right in front of the station, so it's very convenient, and it was nice to get in straight away. The seating inside is counter-only, and there seem to be seats on the 2nd floor too. I ordered the shoyu ramen labeled number 1, with nori, a seasoned boiled egg, and 3 slices of chashu. I've hardly ever had Iekei ramen. They seem to have a salt flavor too, but I went with the reliable shoyu for now. The noodles are fairly thick, pick up the broth well, and are quite tasty. I thought the broth might be a bit thicker, but it wasn't really. Next time I'd like to order the salt flavor. Thank you for the meal!

Around 8 PM on 2026/06/26. I ordered the abura soba pictured with a generous pile of meat. However, the dish actually served was very different from the photo, and the chashu was shredded into small pieces. Also, while preparing the food, I heard 2 employees quietly saying, “They're a foreigner, so they probably won't understand anything.” Because of this, I felt I was being treated dismissively and harassed because I was a foreigner. I am extremely dissatisfied with being served a dish completely different from the photo, as well as the employees' remarks and behavior.

I went back after a long time on a Sunday just after noon and encountered a middle-aged male employee with a bad attitude. He was working alone, but there were no customers and he didn't seem that busy, yet he looked irritated. The entrance said free rice refills, so I expected him to ask if I wanted rice (they always do), but he said nothing. When the ramen was served, I asked if I could have rice. He prepared it looking annoyed, then slammed the rice bowl onto the counter with an incredibly loud bang. I was genuinely shocked. He was also making very loud noises while working in the back and showed no care, so I got really irritated, wondering what was wrong with him. I don't think I'll stop by here again.
