Because it opened on the former site of Seiya, I cannot help comparing it with Seiya. It is so far inferior to Seiya that my overall impression is bad. This time I had miso ramen, which tasted ordinary and cost 780円? At Seiya, you could get ramen with a punchy, delicious, distinctive flavor for 550円… Also, even within the same category, I think Hokkaido Ramen Ajimaru, just a few steps away, is better. The butter topping costs 120円, yet the butter is incredibly small. (See photo) I wish they would learn from Jukusei Miso Tanmen Kura Misoya in Kayabacho, where 100円 gets you butter at least 6 times bigger. Perhaps the air conditioner is leaking, because water occasionally falls from above. If I had to name a good point, the staff’s service was very pleasant. 【Update 3 months later】 The butter was about 4 times bigger, perhaps because they saw this review. It is still smaller than at Jukusei Miso Tanmen Kura Misoya in Kayabacho, but at least it seems closer to the size of a typical butter topping now. Unlike when they first opened, I also feel the flavor has improved (of course, this is personal, and it might be coincidence), and I think it is good to see their desire to improve. (However, it is still underwhelming compared with Seiya, so I will leave the number of ☆ unchanged…) I will review it again in a few months.

I had Sapporo miso ramen. The noodles were not fully cooked… after some time, they became just right. If you make it carelessly, I do not think you can convey how good it is supposed to be… It is a shame because the other parts were good: the bean sprouts were properly stir-fried, and the soup was delicious. Perhaps there was no intention of serving delicious ramen. Next time, please put your heart and soul into each bowl.

In this area, 2 tantanmen shops and 2 tonkotsu shops have just closed because of the COVID pandemic (and simply poor sales). This very restaurant also occupies the former premises and fittings of the tonkotsu shop Seiya. …And yet. Despite there being another miso ramen place just a few meters away, very close by, they deliberately came to compete with miso ramen. With so many places closing and the choices narrowing, they still chose miso ramen. They seem extremely confident, but unfortunately it is not that impressive. If this is the level, I would have preferred to keep tonkotsu in Asagaya. Still, although both serve miso, this place is cleaner inside than “the other one,” so I plan to come here from now on. This place has shorter opening hours, so the other one still has an advantage when it is late… One last point. This was also true when it was Seiya, but this shop and just one other are the only places around here without ticket machines, so I keep almost leaving without paying. On my first visit, while I was eating, several people were called back by the staff and returned to pay, looking embarrassed.

Miso ramen topped with green onions. The miso is delicious and seems addictive. Definitely coming back.

This is the former site of Seiya. I think slightly thicker noodles might feel more like Hokkaido. The flavor is truly unmemorable. The price and taste do not match. It was incredibly busy on the first day, so I planned to go when things quieted down. I went in when it was less crowded, but it was disappointing. Now there are few customers even during prime dinner hours, so it may only be a matter of time. Why did Seiya close? It makes me sad. Update. It seems to have closed.
