I was very fortunate to have them when I lived in Asagaya. The store is in great shape and the prices are amazing at the time! Cheap, hearty, and very conscientious. We often had everything from simmered fish to stir-fry and mayonnaise Japanese dishes. The takikomi gohan is also a little sweet, but has a gentle taste and is delicious. It may be a little old and not so nice looking, but I recommend this restaurant!
View on GoogleNEW The Tanabata festival has started Arrived today after 17:00 (this time we walked through Pearl Center from Asagaya Station, and the crowds made it take ages; I recommend the shortcut into Suzuran-dori from Ome-kaido) Huh...? The shutter is down... and there's a sign saying everything is sold out For a moment I was anxious and worried (it's run by an elderly couple and their daughter...), but the sign put me at ease Proof they're loved Tomorrow, Sunday, will probably bring even more people If you want a taste, it's hot, but... better visit early My wife and I leave on a trip tomorrow, so we're giving up this year See you next year OLD I've kept coming and eating here during Asagaya's Tanabata festival in August I'm not a local, so I don't know how they normally operate... but it's something I look forward to once or twice a year at the Tanabata festival (I suspect they don't offer eat-in?... sorry, I don't know how things used to be) Ankake yakisoba... yum, yum, yuuum! The thick sauce and toppings... seem to have decreased lately...? It's popular, so there's a queue It's hard to find somewhere to sit... so I get takeaway, take the bus, and eat at home (the nikomi too) Long ago, at the far end of Suzuran-dori (before Ome-kaido... in what's now the vacant lot before Issho... oh, the name... even though I used to go often...?) The ramen topped with wood ear mushrooms and egg... was sooo good The fried food from the butcher opposite was delicious too (if it still existed, I'd recommend it to Sandwichman's Date-chan's show) Family-run shops... perhaps an endangered species The mother and daughter look so alike I look forward to seeing their lively faces too
View on GoogleDo children these days even know the word 'osozai'? In an age when the word itself is starting to lose recognition, I'm grateful for a shop that keeps providing these prepared side dishes! Well, to put it simply without difficult words, it's a side-dish shop. I take my hat off to them for offering so many dishes for a few hundred yen! It's no exaggeration to call it a lifeline for students and office workers living alone. Perhaps it's also the neighborhood's supplement shop, helping people get a balance of meat, fish, and vegetables. Truly a spot of sunshine in Asagaya!
View on GoogleThey were a huge help when I lived in Asagaya 15 years ago. The shop is still going strong, and I'm amazed the prices are the same as back then! Cheap, generously portioned, and very fairly run. I often bought simmered fish, stir-fries, and mayonnaise-dressed dishes. The takikomi gohan is a little on the sweet side, but has a gentle, delicious flavor. It may be a little old and not look so nice, but I recommend this shop!
