A hidden gem of a coffee roaster that will roast your coffee to order as you wait. When we went there were 8 different beans to choose from which you can order by weight. They also function as a coffee shop with food options, including coffee soft serve ice cream, which incidentally is fantastic as you wait for your coffee to be roasted. A great experience especially for the coffee fans.

I got a takeaway iced coffee for 350円 including tax at “珈琲焙煎工房 函館美鈴,” in the shopping street right by Hamadayama Station on the Keio Inokashira Line in Suginami, Tokyo♪ The reason was that, while strolling around nearby Hamadayama Park and other places after lunch, I wanted delicious coffee to go with the “クロワッサンたい焼き あずき” from “築地 銀だこ” immediately to the left♪ As expected, “珈琲焙煎工房 函館美鈴” sells many different coffee beans inside, and there's a roasting machine on the right side of the shop, with the lovely aroma of freshly roasted coffee♪ The business was founded in Showa 7 (1932), so it's very long-established♪ It actually opened as “鈴木商店,” a coffee and Western tableware shop in Sakaecho, Hakodate, Hokkaido. The name 美鈴 was chosen through public submissions from Hakodate residents when they opened a directly operated coffee shop in the Daimon district in front of Hakodate Station in Showa 21—interesting♪ Apparently they expanded into Tokyo in Showa 36. I enjoyed the iced coffee right away with the “クロワッサンたい焼き あずき” at the top of the hill in Hamadayama Park. As expected, it was high-quality, freshly roasted iced coffee with acidity and bitterness, a good aroma, and truly delicious flavor♪ It paired well with the sweet, crisp “クロワッサンたい焼き あずき”♪ Next time, I'd like to try the coffee beans from “珈琲焙煎工房 函館美鈴” too♪ “珈琲焙煎工房 函館美鈴” in Hamadayama, Tokyo also offers delicious, high-quality iced coffee from freshly roasted beans, and I highly recommend it!

A coffee bean shop with a wide variety of green beans, which they roast in a high-speed roasting machine within 2〜3 minutes of ordering. You can choose the roast level in detail too, but if you're unsure, tell them the coffee flavors you like and they'll recommend beans and a roast level. Decaffeinated coffee, iced coffee, and takeaway coffee to drink right away are also available at affordable prices. They're based in Hokkaido and seem to be very long-established, so I'd like to stop by if I get the chance to visit Hokkaido.

I came to this shop on the recommendation of a staff member at 堀田カメラ. It says it was founded in Showa 7, but apparently it hasn't been operating at this location since Showa 7. A very unusual shop that roasts the beans on the spot before selling them. Because of this, the flavor leans a little more acidic than typical coffee beans. The loyalty card records the bean type and roast level, which is useful for repeat visits. They also offer advice on opening a café, so I think coffee lovers would find it irresistible.
