Nice teishoku restaurant in Koenji, held by an older gentleman. The food is fresh and cooked in front of you. There is a lunch selection that is both cheap and healty, that changes depending on the season. We had the sashimi, as well as the grilled sardine (saba).

An old-fashioned set-meal restaurant where time seems to have stopped. I was looking for somewhere for lunch, and its appearance caught my interest, so I went in. There were only counter seats inside, and the owner ran everything alone. I ordered the grilled fish set. 700円. You could choose the fish, such as silver salmon or horse mackerel. I chose silver salmon this time. It also came with mapo tofu, pickles, and other sides. The taste itself fell a little short. The rice and miso soup were especially delicious. The salt level of the silver salmon and so on was good too. Honestly, though, I thought the fish was small, but considering the price, perhaps that can't be helped. I wondered why there was mapo tofu, but tried it, and that was delicious too. Every menu item looked reliably tasty, and everything from the prices to the interior felt as though the Showa era had been preserved unchanged. Naturally, payment is cash only.

Super cheap! A Showa-era Japanese diner and izakaya. A real hidden spot. 7 counter seats. The elderly owner works alone. Service takes time. The place is quite old and worn. The food falls a little short in presentation and portion size, but considering the low prices, overall, including the taste, you get what you pay for. A sashimi set for 680円 (tax included) with miso soup and a small serving of pickles is certainly cheap.

An old-fashioned set-meal restaurant with counter seating only. I visited for a weekday lunch. I ordered the grilled fish set, and the sake-lees-marinated redfish, rice, and simmered dish were all very delicious. And the price was reasonable too!
