With prices soaring these days, they serve generously sized set meals, alcohol, and more at incredibly reasonable prices. An extra-large highball is 300円. Set meals are 700円 with rice refills allowed. Nothing but gratitude…! Above all, the service from the owner and his son? is wonderful…🥲 Rice and everything else must be expensive, so I'm truly grateful! And you can even smoke here in this day and age. I hope this place stays around forever…!! Daichan is the best~

Goro-san was eating a miso-simmered mackerel set so deliciously on Kodoku no Gourmet that, for the first time in 10 years? I wanted miso-simmered mackerel! So I went to a set-meal restaurant in Koenji that a follower had posted about, only to find it temporarily closed… (*´-`) Somehow, I'd had that feeling. My weird hunches often turn out right (lol). This was between client visits, so I had no time! I started looking for miso-simmered mackerel as I walked (lol). ヽ(￣д￣;)ノ=3=3=3 Spotted a miso-simmered mackerel set on a sign!!! It was an izakaya serving lunch, so I went inside. There were about 3 groups of customers, but no staff in sight. I sat down anyway! A man who seemed to be the owner brought me a wet towel! Oh, he was running things alone (*´ー｀*) Me: “The miso-simmered mackerel set, please! ヽ(´▽｀)/” Owner: “Sorry. It's sold out.” Me: “……! (　ﾟдﾟ)” In situations like this, I've always found that no matter how hard I look, I can't get it, or it won't taste good even if I do, so I immediately switched gears and glanced at the fried chicken? the man next to me was eating. Owner: “That's Daichan chicken nanban!” Me: “Yes! I'll have that, please! ( ´ ▽ ` )ﾉ” I decided Goro-san style! The chicken nanban arrived in under 10 minutes! What!!! So much!!! Σ（ﾟдﾟlll） There were 10 pieces of chicken nanban! A mega portion? What is this?! Can I finish it? :(；ﾞﾟ'ωﾟ'): Anyway, time to eat! The tangy sauce was delicious, and so was the crispy chicken ╰(*´︶`*)╯♡ The cabbage, rice, and chicken nanban kept me eating! There was so much chicken nanban that I ran out of rice, so I asked for a half refill and got a regular serving (*´-`) I worried whether I could manage it, but the tanginess kept it light! Deliciously finished everything! ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶ The bill was 800円! Reasonable! I was surprised! Despite his appearance, the owner was extremely courteous and attentive! In a way, I was lucky not to get the miso-simmered mackerel! (*´꒳`*) Thank you for the meal!

The customers here are relatively young. Even though it's in Tokyo, the food is inexpensive and the portions are pretty generous, so I was satisfied (^^) Of course, it tasted good too! Apparently smoking is allowed, as quite a few customers were smoking. If you can tolerate that, I think it's a good place (^^) There were quite a few people with children too!

It felt like having lunch made for me at a friend's house. The microwave kept beeping in the kitchen, and the food took over 20 minutes to arrive. Wet towels are handed to you, but water is self-service. I ordered the one-coin fried chicken lunch set and a hamburger steak side dish. My friend had the gyoza hotpot set and a ginger pork side dish. Each only came with one serving of rice, miso soup, and pickles, so why charge the price of 2 meals? They also advertise themselves as a “place where you can smoke” (we don't smoke and just ended up feeling cold), but nobody except the owner was smoking. Probably won't be a second visit💦
