Very popular place. Cheap and cheerful Japanese style Chinese food. Ramen, gyoza, charhan etc. Massive menu. And the price is brilliant. Two people for ¥1,780. Gonna go more regularly.
View on GoogleA Chinese restaurant near Takaido Station. It seems to be a local favorite. I went just before lunchtime ended, but it was almost full. I had trouble deciding, but went with fried rice and gyoza. I dug right in. My conclusion: delicious. The fried rice is moist, with seasoning that's neither too strong nor too weak, making it very easy to enjoy. The gyoza were plump and quite tasty too. Having to pay in cash is a hassle, but otherwise no complaints. Although it's a neighborhood Chinese restaurant, the interior feels clean and welcoming, and I can see why it's popular. I thought it was a very convenient place to visit.
View on GoogleI visited 東軒, a locally popular Chinese restaurant. We were the 3rd group waiting inside and outside, and it took about 20 minutes to be seated. It seems to be a popular neighborhood Chinese restaurant, and the line can get quite long depending on the timing. Also note that payment is cash only. This time I ordered omurice, fried rice, and gyoza. The omurice had an old-fashioned feel and was properly delicious, with a reliable flavor. The fried rice was on the lightly seasoned side, so preferences may vary. The gyoza were nicely browned, juicy, and delicious. It had the feel of a neighborhood Chinese restaurant that's been loved locally for years, and I got the impression it has lots of regulars.
View on GoogleNyanpasu! Heard the buzz and came for my first visit. A great neighborhood Chinese restaurant, just like the reviews say. Everyone, get hyped and party—tonight we're gonna fever tonight here (Ya Boy Kongming!). As soon as I entered, the young server called out “Welcome~,” immediately followed by the two people in the kitchen. Nice, such a bright atmosphere. Two groups were already eating, so I got seated right away. 4 counter seats, 2 tables for 4, and 2 tables for 6. Ordered ramen with half fried rice and gyoza. Customers kept arriving while I waited. All the tables filled up in no time. I saw the power of a popular restaurant with these very 👀. Food arrives. The gyoza are huge. The half fried rice is a regular 1-person serving. Surprise, peach tree, wow tree, haha. Everything is way too delicious~ The ramen broth is savory, the half fried rice is well seasoned. Delicious. Eat something like this and you'll end up coming back~ It's already too sushi. Already locked onto the stamina-yaki for next time. I want the gomoku uma-ni soba too. I might get hooked. Ahh, stuffed. Fully restored. Right, time to head home~ There's 1 more place nearby I'm curious about. A secret. Planning to visit soon. See you. Nyanpasu!
View on GoogleSunday, 14:30. 8 customers before me, 7 after. Since lunch service ends at 15:00, I went thinking it might be quiet and relaxed, but the tables and counter were nicely filled, the place was lively, and energy filled the whole restaurant. I happened to find it while browsing Google Maps. Over 170 reviews, yet a high ★4.3 rating. The reasons for that rating covered everything: the delicious variety of dishes, service, and atmosphere. So I was drawn in. And sure enough, it was absolutely the right choice. Takaido Station is 4–5 minutes away, and the large chimney of the waste treatment plant is clearly visible in this neighborhood. It's on a side street off Kanpachi, only a few dozen meters from it, yet the bustle of the main road seems not to reach this residential area. It unmistakably looks like a neighborhood Chinese restaurant beloved around here, and in a way it's probably long been a symbol of this place. I ordered Half fried rice and half gyoza set (930円) Fried rice is 800円 and a full serving of gyoza is 550円, so it's worse value than ordering each and dividing by 2, but I'm grateful it meets the desire to have exactly half of each. Ordered separately, ramen is 650円 and half fried rice is 600円; as a set it's 1000円, so that set offers both convenience and savings. Two people in the kitchen and two out front. The front staff were a cheerful, rock-style young man and a woman who, judging from their conversation, had recently started part-time. She really seemed to have just joined, and it was heartwarming to hear everyone chatting in spare moments about her family, the school club she'd been in, and things like that. While I was watching, the food arrived in no time. Bringing the gyoza and fried rice at exactly the same time is professional skill. First, the gyoza. Each is quite large, with a properly crisp, browned wrapper and plenty of chive and ginger flavor. Their size makes you want to take two bites, but I deliberately took a big mouthful. That mouth-filling feeling is such happiness. The wrapper's chewiness comes through then, and it's delicious. Homely, but professional gyoza too—that balance is just right. The substantial flavor and size are welcome; a full serving of gyoza and rice alone would surely be enough to fill you up. Next, the fried rice. Th-this is… deliciousss!! There it is, one of those unexpected encounters with something exceptional. It's half fried rice, but plenty of places would serve this as a full portion. The volume is welcome too. And it's so fluffy. So fluffy! That airiness, that lightness in the mouth. The oil and heat have circulated properly, coating the rice at high temperature. A winning fried rice you absolutely could only eat at a restaurant. Egg, scallions, char siu, nothing unusual, just a simple combination. But precisely because it's simple, the seasoning, wok handling, and technique shine. Someone who arrived later ordered a large fried rice, and yes, that's the right choice. This is fried rice to order large and dig into. Omurice. Even just while I was there, 3 customers ordered it. I know some people study neighborhood Chinese restaurant omurice, and that it's gradually becoming a disappearing dish, but here it gets star-player-level appearances. Nice, I want to try that too. And of course the ramen. Thank you for the meal. I'll be back.
